Temat: U20/U17 - Soccer

I wanted to create this thread in order to get the discussion going about the U20 and U17 teams. As some of you know I have thrown my hat into the ring for candidacy and in so doing I would like to make team a collaborative effort. This means that I'd like all of your input on the teams make up/construction/and tactic. I've always been of the opinion that if a company uses the collective talents and intelligence of its parts it can create an unbeatable product. We have the skill among our nations players; it simply will take the RIGHT players combined with the precise implementation.

Thus, I'd like your input; we'd ALL like your input. If you have a player or series of players that you believe would be good for the U-20 or U-17 team, list them here and give you input on why those players should be included and in what capacity.

Spicer, Merchant, Woody, Locklear, Bronson, and Petersen are all currently 20 and will not be eligible for the U20 team when it starts next season (i.e. they'll be 21).

In addition, I expect some of the other players to be kept on the senior NT for another season (there's a news article mentioning this).

When I get some free time, I'll see if I can put a list together as well.

I have several decent 19 year olds and 2 pretty good 16 year olds.

To save you some time, my decent players are as follows:

U20 - SD Cale Dyson , Clark Schilling , Dave Eaton , CM Charles Dougherty , Norman Chester , SF Vernon Brand .

U17 - CD TJ Wesley , SF Collin Gaertner

In any case, I have quite a few respectable players worth at least considering for the u17 and u20 teams (though they are mostly 15 year olds and 18 year olds right now). I probably have borderline facilities (13,12) and staff (332,222). In particular, I recommend:

u17: Norris Nicholson (LM - very good qualities), Dustin Christensen (CM - good relevant qualities and very high OR for a 15 year old), and Scott Bench (LF - probably not good enough but would be perfect for the bench).
u20:Lewis Branham (CD - good qualities), Jeff Leclair (G - mostly very good qualities, might soon take over as my starting goalie and gain more experience).

Just a quick list of guys I've come up with thus far -- completely disregarding NT participation -- I've just thrown names in there as they seem to fit my loose criteria, and happen to be in the highest league. I haven't ventured into other countries teams that may or may not have US players that would fit the bill, but will.

These are the 42 players I've found that are either 15 with 500+ OR or 16 with 600+ OR in the US. If you have a player that fits that criteria but is not on the above list let me know. I'll have all of them scouted by the end of the season. If you have a player that does not meet the OR requirement but has very high qualities, let me know as well, but he's going to have to beat out 8 or more of the above players.

Dustin Christensen has 475 OR but will have 500+ OR in a few weeks (he grows by about 1.4 per day and has good qualities except for speed as a CM). He's probably still a longshot but worth considering.
