Thank you very much Camilla, I hope for the best too! Would it be possible, though, for you to send a follow-up message explaining who you might in fact be...?
I see by your experience (219 days) that you are relatively new to the game.
I appreciate your interest in our country's national teams.
It sounds like you may have some ties to our great country.
World Cup Championships are different from regular play.
I shall attempt to explain how "game importance" is determined by the various national team managers.
Generally, it works like this.
National team chemistry and energy are separate from regular season chemistry and energy.
Each team is allowed to carry 50 players on the national team.
Some are players who will play in the World Cup games, and the rest are players who will replace them as they become less able to contribute in the Championship.
The top 5 at each position and 3 goalies (28 players total) will be sent to the Championship games.
The top 4 at each position and the best goalie will see most of the ice time.
They should have good team chemistry and experience from playing in previous Championship seasons.
It is a good idea to rest them for the Championship games so they can be at their best then.
The other 7, and the 22 players who are not going can be played on the "very high" setting in the friendly games on order to increase their chemistry and experience for when they will play.
This means that we are not playing our best players in the friendly games, which may result in more losses.
Each team will take a different path, possibly every season, to maximize their players for when they are needed.
Teams who are using lower settings in the friendly games are probably in a position where they are trying to get new players who have just joined the team and have no national team chemistry at least a little before the tournament starts.
During the Championship series, lower settings for game importance may be used against teams where there is little chance of winning to save energy for a team where winning is more likely.
A lower setting may also be used in situations where a team has already qualified for the next round.
Given the lower number of teams that we have in this country, our managers have done an excellent job in maintaining our World Cup standings.
Hoping this has been helpful.
If there are any other questions you have, do not hesitate to ask.

Hi Bobby Jay
Thank you for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate it. I also led the national team for a while, so I know a little about it. But in no way do I want to criticize the current tactics and the strength of the national team. I would never allow myself to do that. After all, as you wrote yourself, I don't have that much experience.
But unfortunately I am worried about the current position of the team. I think and believe that this team should play somewhere else and be several tens of places higher in the table. And so I wanted to help, after all your base is quite wide (compared to when I managed the national team of Ireland)
I see that Bobby Jay has it firmly in his hands, so I will keep my fingers crossed that Team Canada plays in higher waters.
I have a certain relationship with your country, but it is the cradle of hockey to which I always like to return every year

It would be nice if, as you say, we had a large base, but it is only true in real hockey fandom and not in who plays this game. It shows that this game was built by people living in Czech Republic (or Slovakia, I don't remember which one it is). They have certainly been more successful at marketing this game close to home than further away. Canada is quite a small country as far as ppm goes.
I agree.!! Canada has 96 active managers while the Czech Republic has 1,000 active managers. Quite a difference in resource pools. Our record as a whole has been more than acceptable against teams who have far more teams to draw players from.!!
It was in Bratislava, Slovakia.
But as I wrote, compared to Ireland you have a solid base and in the national team you have "in my opinion" great players! I think that the team is ready to play in the top World Cup.
But of course this is a game, reality is something else

Yes it is true!
A lot of quality Canadian players are playing around the world, you can discover them and take them to the national team

As of this moment, 17 of the 50 players on the senior team play on international home teams from outside of Canada. They have been "discovered" through meticulous comprehensive regular scouting procedures that are always ongoing. It is almost impossible that a Canadian player could be traded to a foreign country without being scouted by me beforehand. Just because they are not presently on a national team does not mean they have not been scouted.!!
I am currently following 1,084 Canadian hockey players, so it is doubtful that I have missed very many.!! If you could find one, and bring him to my attention, I would be most grateful.!!

Of those 1,084 scouted players, 205 play on teams in the Czech Republic, and 88 play in leagues in other countries.!!
I look forward to one of our brave managers logging on to the Czech national team boards and offering a broad criticism of their efforts as well...
Still, I guess chatter is a good thing. It reminds us all that this great game still continues...
There is no need to do that. The fact that we are 7-0 in our last seven games against the Czech Republic says it all.!!
I would like to try to strengthen the representation, but I understand that you don't want anyone else there. But who knows, maybe I have some tricks up my sleeve that would move us a bit, you know.
Or do you think I shouldn't even try?
To be honest: I was in the Irish national team, but there is practically nothing to choose from, the options are very limited. In Canada it's a much bigger vibe (even though you say it's small) my opinion is still the same - Canada should play in the top division of the World Cup!
Tell me your opinion please.

If you are implying that you would like to run the national team, you can go ahead and sign up for the elections. Personally, I much prefer having a GM from Canada running Canada's teams, but you can try it.
