Assunto: Scoring center

Why is my top center shooting so often and scoring so many goals if he has the lowest OFFENSE and SCORING ratings on his line?

What are his attys?

He has a very nice bundle. Just a thought... maybe the agr makes him more aggressive in the offensive zone!?!?!

I think aggression works to the benefit of the whole line. Aggressive wingers means more puck possession in the offensive zone, which means more shots on goal from the centreman lurking in the slot.

The play usually develops with the centre bringing the puck up, high AGR on the centre may mean he will shoot more than pass causing the increase in the centres shots.

A C with same attrib but lower AGR may pass more do to lack of aggression, therefore Wingers and pinching D men will have more shots.

For example C High AGR and/or SHO may pass 50% of the time or shoot 50%. Then of the 50% he passes he might have a 30% chance of getting the puck back from the W or D he passed to and he has a 50% chance of that to be a shot as well. Where as the W has a 50% chance max (due to 2 Wingers and pinching D sometimes get the pass too) of getting the puck that is passed only 50% of the time so he had 25% chance max of getting to decide by his stats to Shot or Pass.

Another example is a C with Low AGR and/or SHO may shoot 25% of the time and pass 75%. Then of the 75% he passes he might have a 30% chance to get it back from the W or D he passed to and has a 75% chance to will pass it off again.

(I know not all plays go through the C, but I am guessing the majority, in the game engine, flow that way)

Of course this is just quick speculation and may be well of base, and I may not have explained what I was thinking properly either.

I am not complaing, just trying to understand the game.

My team leader in goals (tied for 5th in the league only 2 behind the leader) is a defenseman!

Goa = 3
Def = 90
Off = 10
Sho = 27
Pas = 45
Tec = 64
Agr = 56
Exp = 44

He has an Off of 10 and a shot of 27 yet has 9 goals in 18 games already.
That is ridiculous.

Especially considering his forwards are 80+ Off (all of them) and 2 of his 3 forwards have 40+ shooting.
