so what is the best ratio?
The guide seems to indicate that 1.0:0.8:0.5 is a good primary:secondary:tertiary ratio, but is it the best?

Nobody knows for sure except the developers. I use 4:3:2 (or 1.0:0.75:0.5 in your system) but others use 2:1:1.
I think you have to be more position specific for ratios, none of mine are based on only 3 stats.
It's all well and good to go by the main 3 the guide shows but, how good is that winger without shooting involved in the ratio, Is that D man in the penalty box all the time unless you add Tec to his ratio etc etc.
If I just look at the main 3 my ratio is like Scotts, no...wait...strike that....his ratio is like MINE!

Most players at 4:3:2 ratio right now but will be testing out something closer to 2:1:1 with some players.
Hey guys, in my experience. the attribute ratios should probably be kept within a 5 point range for optimum usage. Like Nytemare was saying , shooting is involved in the overall, but not position specific, therefore the balance. Again, penalties occur too frequently if the agr is way higher than tec or pas but as in the guideline, the player is better when secondary and tertiary atts are better than a 2:1 ratio. I've also been noticing, that say for example, a center will get more shots in a game if his agr, which is not in the mix for his position, is kept in the formula also. Make sense?
Problaly already common knowledge but, I juggled my lines a bit lately and put the highest tech forwards at center... winning alot more draws!
Lots of folks like 2:1:1 versus 4:3:2 don't forget guys. Alot of the big Euro clubs use it including Popaji and Eagles, Radowan and many others. I'm throwing in some 2:1:1 builds next season along with adjusting my backups. Still building most prospects to 4:3:2 for now. Hoping to run and experiment next season. 2 wingers and 2 defensemen playing on the same lines. One of each build. all 4 prospects with 0 chem and 0 experience and simillar quality for the bundle. Shot built to the same percentages. None of the 4 play the PP or PK. And see how all 4 perform relative to each other in pairs.
Building outside the bundle I've found very useful. tech:agro 1:1 for defensemen seems effective as mentioned. 1 little nugget I found was building pass:tech 1:1 for wingers. I have 2 guys with 75% pass and tech at wing. both top 5 in team scoring

I use 2:1:1, I might use 2:1:0.95 even, because I have seen results that show the bound for the primary as anywhere from 6-10:3:3
