yeah I spent serious money but for top quality players

Goalie Endjis has 90% EQ -> 76,650,000
Winger Vasyl has 89% -> 113,816,243
Back Heiner 85% -> 36,465,188

I spent 20M more than I planned on Vasyl but still got at good price. Heiner was a huge steal and the goalie was a very good price too knowing goalies cost more and his very high quality.

I spent 230M on players purchase and earned 150M on sells. So i pretty much spent 80M to upgrade every position

Now I only need another high quality winger (or back since Emilio can play both) and maybe a Pivot (not really necessary)

I am now free to just spend money on Arena and facilities. My team base is pretty set.

I must be doing something wrong lol. I've felt as though my base team has been pretty set for a little while now, and I've spent 200m less than you.

If I were to be in division I.1 though, I'd probably be losing all the time, unhappy with my roster, and looking to the market to improve.

But then, that's why I'm pretty happy to just camp here in division II. The competition is still darn good, and I don't have to freak out or stress that I don't have all of the best players in the U.S.

I sold a bunch of unnecessary backup players that had some value at the time to try and stick around in I.1 Considering that all of my current starters that came from my sports academy are 18 or older (except for my starting goaltender, who still isn't quite top tier), it was probably still worthwhile, especially since my only decent wing is my current third string wing who can't shoot.

Now, I am comfortable using the players I bought for the next 5+ seasons while putting everything into my facilities and stadium. I guess I am just focusing on sticking around in division II at this point while primarily building my stadium.

you're missing the point.. you sold 15M or so on players. that is not much. I mean, not that the sells helped you much to develop facilities/arena

Between Selling and Buying i spent 80M. If I have not bough this goalie I would have spent ZERO while upgrading 2 positions. eventually I will sell one or two more and come to the zero again while upgrading 3 positions.

As noted above, I've lost a ton of training this year due to injuries.
1) When your best players are out injured all the time, you can't sell them for what they're worth.
2) When your best players are out injured all the time, you can't even afford to sell your decent backups.

Had it not been for all the injuries, I probably would have sold a few more players at this point in the season. However, it could be a blessing of sort in disguise because I have several decent 15 year olds that are now quite close to taking over for 17 and 18 year olds. So within a season or so, I'll be able to sell probably half of my current starting lineup. Until then, I'm not too worried about it.

- Consider that you got 70 million for a player who is still ~25 OR higher than ANY player on my team. I couldn't have made that sale when you did even if I had wanted to.

- Consider also that you (apparently) sold your soul to Papa Legba and got a combined $20 million last season for players that most division I or II teams wouldn't have even had on their rosters (Ike Swanson , Ervin Morris , and Rex Davenport )... To me that's the luck of the draw and not a model that I (or anyone else) can reliably replicate.

So yeah, you've been able to make some good money selling players... but saying I'm missing the point is just oblivious to the reality of your good fortune.

At the end of the day, I've spent (from what I can tell) about 60-70 million less than you on infrastructure (about 40 million on arena, and 20 or so on facilities). I've spent the same amount of money as you on all of my main facilities though, and only lag behind in the "tertiary" ones (which are quicker and cheaper to upgrade anyways). I'd say that's pretty freaking good considering that:
1) you had the highest OTR at the end of last season
2) won the regular season in division I.1 last season
3) Have sold probably over $100m more than I have on the market
4) Have the largest arena in the U.S. right now and (presumably) the largest media sponsorship and income from ticket sales

Anyways, I'm still doing well in II.1 without buying any players, and (i think) have outspent everyone in my division in infrastructure upgrades, while staying competitive. As far as I can see, there's absolutely no reason for me to buy expensive players on the market (which will cost me more in expenses in the long run) at this point in time.

So I guess I just really don't see what point i'm missing.

I think you are still missing the point ...

I am not comparing your approach to mine. what I am saying is I have been able to sell to upgrade while spending "little" to do so.

The point is not: oh he spent 200M on players.
the point is. he sold 10 players to get 3 upgraded players and he spend near nothing to do so.

when in fact the point is: bulls packed a bunch of players, sold them to replace to a few, much better, players spending not so much.

the way you said sounded like I spent a ton of money (200M is a ton) neglecting investing on infrastructure.

Fact is:
1. Money spent to buy players comes from selling
2. Money spent to build Arena/Facilities comes from sponsors and tickets
3. If I have not sold my players Id still have the not so great ones.
4. No matter how bad/good one's players are. Anyone can always pack 3 to 4 players sell, use the money and buy one better one. that is my approach and that is the point you are missing.

Nope. I wasn't saying you were neglecting infrastructure at all. I was just stating the fact. You have spent about 200m more than me on players. You're the one the read into the statement.

We have different philosophies (it's not a matter of missing your point).

My philosophy is that if I'm competitive in my league, and my OTR is competitive in the U.S., any money that I get goes into facility and arena growth.

Why should I spend money on players when I'm in the top 3 in my division? It's a waste in my mind.

So yeah, I could "day trade" on the market, flipping players, and try to upgrade the players that I have... Or, I could just stick with my cheaper, properly trained U.S. players who have nearly maxed out chemistry.

I don't know how you can say it's an upgrade when last season you were 2nd and now fighting for the 8th seed. I guess it's an downgrade...
