haha... "top team?" Red Star is as good as the average team in division I. You can't judge a team on their place in the rankings. At least not yet.

Much disappoint

I have not said anything in favor or against red stat. I said only about rowdie and that is a top team promoted to d2 hat should content

I didnt intend to imply you were saying anything about Red Star, nor do i intend my comments to take anything away from Rowdie.

I was merely commenting on how odd it is to refer to the outcome of an evenly matched contest as "shocking." And it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that you consider teams a "top team" just because of the division they're in. I actually can't think of a better judge of team strength than performance in a randomly drawn tournament such as the National Cup. To that end, i think the top teams would be the ones left standing near the end...

rowdie was at D2 a few weeks ago ... So I think it is a very good compliment to a former D2 team to say he is a top team.

There are other great teams not in D1 that would sure compete in D1 like Edison, Last Place, Montana, Lehigh, Doppelgangers, Fighting Okra and others ...

There are also teams is D3 as Cunning Procrastinators for example.

Rowdie is 5th in team strength in the country!!!! One point behind 3rd place!!!
with 64 teams still in the competition it would not be expected to leave that earlier.

It is not the same as saying "I am shocked it lost to Red Star". it is just plain "I am shocked that team is knocked out that earlier".

I consider top teams the ones that have the best players and manage to use them right. i mentioned

just in this messaged i mentioned 7 teams that are not in D1 that i consider as among the top.

and I could also place former D1 teams as well as Beer and Pizza and HSV. so .. 9 teams mentioned here not on D1.

Lol but on topic, I'm actually really surprised that the match in discussion was the only upset worth noting. Even in the round of 64 Ithought tthere'd be more teams taking down favorites.

Nah .. Might have other upsets. Today i was running out of time. Too many things to do before leaving to hawaii tomorrow morning. So i checked that one and posted. Just came home (9:30pm) and still need to do some packing. Leaving 5am.

lol- This is what I love about adding new sports. The forums used to be polluted with the same managers. Each time a sport is added managers that just joined have a chance to be competitive and are more likely to stay. With the addition of Handball we have a lot more chatter on the boards then previously. I can only assume basketball will bring the same.
