I generally ranked by total team strength but gave bonuses to teams with good training/regeneration facilities or teams that are more likely to have spare money.

This should be an extremely competitive season. anyone between third place and sixteenth place could beat anyone else in that range and have a good season. Teams like FC Bozewak and ZEMLJORADNIK who are putting a lot of money into players could surprise some of the more established teams. Of course, injuries and acquisitions could change the balance of power at any point.

I basically looked at the most recent game and determined whether a team was not using its best players in the game. If a team was not using its best players, I found the ratings for those players and substituted the players with the best ratings into the most likely formation for the most recent game. For instance, if a team has defenders with ratings of 15,10,15 and an injured CD with a rating of 15 (and the team seems to use 3 defenders), then I multiplied the teams positional team strength for defense(assume it is 50) by 45/40 (resulting in 56 rounded). I don't really know how ratings are calculated, so this is probably not a very accurate method, but it produces numbers close to the numbers I remember for some teams.

I intend to promote this year, even if I'm forced to make an expensive acquisition at the midpoint of the season.

I made a similar analysis at the beginning of last season and decided to make another one for this year once the number of camps went down. I wasn't too accurate last year in the predictions, partly due to the excessive amount of teams folding, but it was close enough.

oh, i have collected lots of info. that is how i calculate the best possible formation to get the best team strength. To finish it, id have to pretty much throw my season away to collect enough data to build a formula.

if you intend, then its better to get player now so he gets some chemistry.

I plan to save most of my money to upgrade my stadium next season. I would only buy a player as an act of desperation if my team is not performing well enough.
