Oggetto: All Star players - How are they picked?

Quick question for you guys: How are the AS players chosen?

Today my team (sorry ben) blew another one out of the water, 18-2. My top line did very well for itself with one guys scoring 6 goals with one assist and the other winger scoring 2 with 6 assists. Neither one of them made the all-stars.

The guys who did make it had 2 goals and 2 assists and the other 3 goals and 1 assist.

So... Anyone has any idea how this works? Do they take into account how close the game was?

Your team is too powerful. Since your team is in the stratosphere compared to his skill wise, they don't even get put into contention. The engine would rather give it to a no name who beats a no name rather than your guy with 36 goals. Since it's like an NHL team playing against a timbits team. It sucks yes, but also drives you to move up to the next league to get some recognition.

And yes, there are a lot of things that motivates you to go to a higher league. Sadly, last season there were 3 strong teams in our league and mine was the weakest. I quite honestly can't wait to reach III.2 and get hammered by those guys. Noone should be able to dominate his league like I'm doing right now. And looking at your team, you konw exactly what I'm talking about.

If that is truly the case, then explain this:

Both players had 1 goal, 2 assists, and a +3 rating. Player A had one more shot on goal. Player A, from the top seeded team in the division, put up his numbers in a 9-1 victory over the 8 seed. Player B, from the 4th seeded team in the division, put up his numbers in a 3-0 victory over the 3 seed.

I don't even think it goes by your seeded place. I think more of of your team strengths. You have a team with a 35 overall rating playing a team with a 10 overall rating. As opposed to a team with say 25 overall playing a team 20 overall.
So with Chinooks with a 33 overall playing a team with 12 rating.

Since there is nothing stopping someone from league 1.1 to drop down to the IVs and then just steamroller everyone. But they won't get the benefit of having the money/all stars.

And yes Chinook, I know what you mean. I luckily still have some competitive teams in my league so it gives my players a chance to get noticed. But they are few and far between all these no name games.

Ok... The respective OTS's for the teams were:
Player A: 32 vs 20
Player B: 32 vs 30

Again, with the same stats (only difference being that Player A had one more SOG), Player A was selected as the all-star. Not player B.

Don't look at OTS but look at OTR
And let us know the teams/games so that we can help explain it better.

Player B is a third liner who got the GWG and scored 50% of his shots (1 of 2). 1G 2A = 3P Assisted on the other 2 goals in the game (involved in all goals).
Winning team OTR 210.71
Losing team OTR 218.13
OTR difference is about +8

Player A is a third liner who scored 1G and 2A = 3P
33% of his shots (1 of 3) Assisted on 3rd and 9th and scored 6th goal.
Winning team OTR 215.13
Losing team OTR 145.23


I totally don't agree with their choice for first star. No clue how it works. All figures astound me.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the all-star selection committee is biased against the Raging Pigs.

Bah, if that's the truth then they are biased towards my team.

All Star selection never makes any sense. I won a game, and the three stars were all from the losing team...go figure. I also had the best goaltender this year, who had a grand total of two AS selections in 20+ games.
