Nice upset victory to Australia over Russia!!!! In U20. 4-0 win, all goals in the 2nd half. Well done.

Well looking at the election numbers, I'll be getting knee-deep back into the U20 spreadsheet this week as I get the roster updated for U20. I'll get back to you shortly with the proposed U20 team selections.

The red carpet U20 team announcement event is expected to be huge (Reports are that TB will have a quiet one this season and be drinking cordials with Suromias after the shenanigans they got up to last time, there were scandalous reports involving the visiting Hungarian Team WAGS, but it did help TB recruit a NT player to his team Vendel Bárányos )

PS: Good luck the Socceroos vs South Africa tonight in the Friendly (in real-life soccer).

Vendel has looked good so far. He'll be a regular fixture next season for sure.

It's ok, we all have those moments.

Well an update on the U20 research we're doing in preparation for this season.

I officially have a total of 97 players in the mighty spreadsheet (U20 players with OR > 700 make it into the 97)

Just a couple more to be scouted before we finalise the top 30 odd and the U20 team.

A breakdown of those 97 U20 players so far (very symmetric too):
- 9 Forwards scouted
- 29 Midfielders scouted
- 29 Defenders scouted
- 9 Goalies scouted
- 21 remaining to be scouted (but lower OR)

I'll let you know where your players stand next time, with the Top 5 or Top 10 position lists.

Might see also which Academy has produced most of these players... you might be surprised by the result.

U20 Team selections will be when election is decided.

Group 8 again, the only pool with 7 teams instead of 8 - top 4 qualify for the finals.

Scotland - Ranked 34th
Saudi Arabia - Ranked 46th
Bulgaria - Ranked 20th
Sweden - Ranked 32nd
Germany - Ranked 8th
France - Ranked 14th
Australia - Ranked 56th

Definitely not the pool of death, so a good opportunity for us to qualify again this season, if we play it right.

Congrats to the U20 players who got selected in the initial 26 selected tonight, we've currently got another 9 spots available.

I'll add some commentary about the team selections, and give you a run down of the post party events after tonight's announcements, later this week.

For now I can confirm the age composition of the team. There are:

Number of 20 year olds = 8
Number of 19 year olds = 15
Number of 18 year olds = 3

So we should have a solid squad together for the next couple of seasons.
