Θέμα: World Cup UK team....

One last match in the group will tell uz where we stand.... It will be sificult match against our fellow nation USA... but what is the posible outcomes? well lets see...after the results from todays games...
The only think is certain... we are now on the top of the group table after todays win against former leader Lithuania 3:2

so I have the results now... without surprice USA has gain another win 3:2 agianst rumania and has 7 points now...which means that it will be quite game against as tomorrow..... the table is : UK 10p, Lithuania 9p, USA 7p and then Ukraine and Bulgaria 5p there are only 4 teams going to quaterfinal and it is certain it is UK, Lithuania. and USA. still thou we have not secure the first position unless we beat USA in normal time. least we can be is 3rd which might put us against actualy any of four teams from the other group denmark, portugal, croatia or italy... That group is very unpredictable....

watch it tomorow... group 1 has very ineteresting games...
1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th and 5th v 6th... the looser from 3rdv 4th might actualy do home without quaterfinal replaced by winner of the last game..... something isnt it?

Our group is UK v USA, Lithuania v Bulgaria and last game Ukraine v Romania.....

Any comments from National Coach?

So coach dont want to say anything untill the last game. I will try it again... in the mean time we can talk about our games ourselfs....

So anything you all want so say about our performance in the WC so far?

I will reflect on the group games in the forum after the USA game as they read our forum and i don't want to influence what they do. If any UK managers want to know my plans for tonights game and the knockout stages feel free to pm me. Once we have been eliminated or have completed the final i will write up my views on the full tournament.

We did first very important step, we are in play off. It doesn't really matter if we'll go to the PO from 1st, 2nd or 3th place coz as Honzajohny said first group is even more unpredictable ... Our team is strong enough to succeed in this tournament, but we'll need huge porion of hockey luck in play off games ...

Great win against Lithuania, power play was very strong. We should expect Lithuania to win, so we need to win as well. We've not lost in normal time yet, but i think USA will be a difficult team to beat.

Any reason why we still only have 38 players? Even if you want to leave room for a couple of perfect youth pulls, you can get some more players in to check out there stats before next season.

I have scouted nearly all the players over OR 290. I could call up another 12 but only take 28 to the WC. After the WC the roster will be cleared and paves the way for another 50 if the national coach so desires.

Well first lost in normal time with USA puts us onto 3rd position and set us against Croatia in Play Offs....

My plan was to take 4 lines and a healthy scratch for each position totaling the full allocation of 28 players. Any player who had a diminished energy level i dropped and replaced and was fortunate to have plenty of depth. We were fortunate to also have only 1 injury in the team before the plane left and that player was quickly replaced.

The first goal was to reach the knockout stages while losing a minimal amount of energy which was accomplished. Games were extremely tight but for USA who seem to be our bogey team. Where we finished in the table is now insignificant as all the teams look quite tough. This evening we play Croatia who like ourselves have not played any games on high and we look evenly matched. If we happen to win that we play Lithuania or Austria for a place in the final and promotion to the top tier.

Yesterday i dropped my own players for the game to preserve energy and gave a few of the patient scratches a game. Hopefully their managers are not too disheartened by lack of action and are happy to receive the slight increase in training. In the event we are eliminated i can release players for tournament games or keep them for more training.

So touchwood we will prevail and have a team full of superstars in the squad.

I think you may as well scout another 12 players before the end of season just so the new coach (or you again) can see more players. If they are not as good at least you know they are not as good.
Or you could use it to spy on a rival and look at 12 of their players?
