What I was saying is that I'm not noticing a skill increase difference between low Q and high Q players.

Are you talking about practice? I wouldn't expect a huge difference since our training facilities and staff have such a small effect right now.

Ah. Well, that could be because the OR is so low right now.

I hate that I have some starting players that are absolutely useless (I'm looking at you Miguel Hogan and Stephen Carpenter ) but are so expensive that my poor, start-up franchise can't even afford to buy out their contracts in order to send them the hell away.

Seriously... these guys have barely more OR than my 15 year old rookies, but it would cost (in Stephen Carpenter 's case) almost $100,000 just to get rid of them.

My team can't afford to waste that kind of money right now! That's 1/4 of my current cash! So I'm stuck, holding these guys until their contracts run out (Stephen Carpenter 's is freakishly long).

Stupid.

I don't mind having the "older players" on the starting rosters... but to make it near impossible to cut them if you don't want them (and can't sell them) is just silly.

You're better off firing them for 50% of the remaining value than you are waiting for their contract to run out.

My advice: list them for 10k and hope someone bites.

I Already tried selling them. No dice. And I'm not going to continue to waste 10k on fees hoping that they sell. Sure I could list them 10x for the cost of 100k, and if they sell, it pays for itself. But what happens if they don't? Then I'm out of pocket for 200k.

As far as cutting them... in any other situation, I'd absolutely agree with you. I would be better off financially (in the long run) taking the hit now.

However. that extra 100k goes a long way towards building new facilities NOW. That's a significant portion of a facility upgrade right now. The same won't be as true 80+ days from now.

So losing 100k NOW, THIS EARLY ON, hurts WAY more than having a 200k fee spread out over the course of an entire season.

Financially speaking you're right. It makes sense from an accounting standpoint. Economically speaking (in terms of marginal benefit/cost), it's far more costly to take the hit now. Because that 100k benefits me way more now than 200k would benefit me spread out over the next 80+ days.

Whenever I have 200k/day staff in hockey/soccer I want to unload I pop them on the market for 2 days and 10k time and time again. Someone eventually bites and it saves me a tonne of cash.

I recommend tossing them up for 2 days and 10k... someone will bite eventually.

not 200k/day. 200k is the entire value of his contract. 100k is the buyout amount.

Sure, if his contract were that high, I'd try endlessly to get someone to buy (it makes fiscal sense to do so).

But in this case, if i don't get anyone to bite after 10 tries, i've cost myself as much as the buyout cost of the contract, and i still have the player.

given the number of absolute shit players on the market, it's clear other teams are in the same position and trying to clear their rosters too. No one is buying though.

These low 200 OR 19-20 year olds are going unsold one after the other.

I know! I was talking about the 200 OR staff I have in hockey and soccer. I was relating using personal experience with the "trying to cut salary without firing them and people aren't buying on the market" scenario.

You may want to keep them as spares for a future training camp. Otherwise, bite the bullet and axe them. Use tomorrow and Wednesday's login bonus to cover that cost.

Do you know, when it will be decided how many players team will be able to draft? When list of players appears or on draft day?

The drafts are now at the midpoint and the end of the season. That's weeks 5 and 10 in basketball. Players show up two weeks before the draft for scouting. That's when it is determined how many picks you will have.

You are lucky. If I cut all my guys that are useless I can't field a team. Over 3/4ths of my team have critical attributes yielding me .04-.08 in training with a lev 4 TF and lev 3 RC. The top attribute gain is .20. That tells me those attribute Qs are in the single digit range. No money, no talent, no hope to train them, just plain no fun for months. PPM had the opportunity to start everybody out on a level playing field and they blew it. I would bet that over half the people starting quit because they got screwed on players. We have had 1 drop out already. I think PPM screwed the pooch on this one. It will be Christmas before my team will be competitive and that is providing I don't get relegated to a lower league. If I spend money on players I can't build. If I build I have no players that can benefit. This team is total crap. My one good player went down for 10 games. If I put all my money in the SA I "may" get a usable player but he won't be up to even these dogs I have for a year. I am totally disillusioned in basketball. I doubt very much if sign up for future releases. This was mistake.
