I could've sworn there was a suggestions thread, but I'll just post this here.
I remember a while back when I used to play the NHL games on playstation that one had to pay attention to a player's "hot/cold" streaks, and decide how to handle players on such streaks. I think this has already been implemented into the game engine to a degree by all the talk of super goalies and whatnot, but how about making these streaks more apparent, even going so far as to show a little graphic next to a player's name throughout the season showing when they're on a hot streak or a cold streak? It'll force us to ponder whether to change our lines or leave the player as is at the risk of a slight increase or decrease in his attributes for a few games. Perhaps add a "consistency" attribute that directly affects how composed or how much of a headcase our player is?
What do ya'll think?[hockey_player=id]

I like this idea a lot. There have been a lot of such good ideas but it is hard for the dev's to go back and completely retool the hockey engine when they're working on new ones for other games. What we generally see are tweaks to different ways calculations are made to try and balance it with the current model.
