Im not sure if this is even possible.. but i think it would be nice to be able to designate which player on your line is more likely to shoot the puck in game play. Sorta like a point man on defense or a designation like the way the Devils focused on getting the puck to Kovalchuk on the pp(or most of the game). I have noticed my players with lower off and shot are taking more shots than the players that are better suited to do so.
I agree. Sometimes the guy with the best shooting on my team gets no shots and someone with the lowest shot on the line gets 6
There could be an option that the defense could play more towards one person, kind of shawdow him and then he woudnl't be able to get the shots off. Maybe then the whole idea is a little pointless, but it would give a bit moer to do for the game to game tactics and things to do.
Here's a suggestion:
Instead of designating a training camp for 4-7 days, just allow us the ability to recall players as necessary, without permitting them to return to camp.
I think I shot myself in the foot because I wasn't sure what day the players would leave and so waited for a response which I did not read until around 10:55pm, 5 minutes before the day closed. Now I think I'm going to be short half my starting lineup for game one of the playoffs. This stinks.
If I sold my entire remaining team, I could get the players back -- why should I have to go to this drastic measure when the players are obviously able to be recalled?

Then we have an issue with lineups.
I thought about allowing the defense to 'shadow' a person, but if you change your lines, then suddenly all that info is useless and could be even more detrimental.

But i dont see the defense not defending my left wing if i focus the puck to one player, i'd just like to see real snipers rather than a random effect of some numbers... but i also dont have the cpu knowledge to even know if something like this is possible.
To be completely honest, I think that the simulation is very simple and it isn't able to handle complexity like this.
I think a lot of calculations are line based, not player based as well.
In order to do things like this, they'd probably have to re-write the entire game engine, which isn't going to happen.

I dont know if this has been suggested already (I dont feel like wading through 50+ pages to find out) but I would love to see a TOI (Time On Ice) for each player in the game statistics.
I know we have the ability to set the percentages, but it doesnt really account for special teams and the like. I would really like to know how much each player is actually on the ice for.
Would also be great to have it split into EV/PP/SH.

Problem is PP/PK doesn't count towards energy loss or TOI in the GE. You can kind of figure it out I suppose...
Then my next suggestion would be to add it to the game engine haha. Although Im sure that would be more work than it is worth. Ah well, thought i would try.
What are your guys' thoughts on a tutor system? By that I mean you have a guy who is an older experienced guy and you can link him to a young guy and make him train faster. The more experienced the older guy is the better the training. It would give an incentive to keep the old, experienced 2/6 guys around...
We could take it one further and say you can only tutor players of the same country of origin (kind of a language/culture barrier of sorts) too...
it would be an interesting addition, but i am not 100% for it. teams should be keeping the best players that they can recruit in order to ice the best team and ultimately win. if the old experienced 2/6 cl guys are not one of the best that the team needs, they shouldn't be on the team in the first place
