Lets all ignore the guy who finishes in the top 8 everyseason because he doesn't know what we're going through! He couldn't possibly understand this game better than me. NAY, Na-eH, Naih!
No, TMO has a ton of knowledge about winning at this game including winning in I.1 which is a lot more than most of us can say.
But in the particular situation of the struggle to promote in a league above and be on the cusp as well as dealing with how to best time promotions, he simply has less experience with this than guys like Chad and Elpatzer. He knows the game extremely well, but has not been in this situation in all 10 seasons he's played.
You really should read the thread carefully before attributing me things I have clearly never said.

I never quoted you but I used your info.
There are a bunch of people who just said they do not what to hear his comment and that is ridiculous. I know you are one of the more thoughtful people on this game. He is the best because he uses the best methods, instead of remaining on the cusp.

If you want to sign up for soccer, you can see that I am going through exactly what you say I've never experienced. I am practicing exactly what I preach in that sport.
My demotion and promotion in hockey a few seasons back also shows that it can provide an edge up. Does it not?

I did a re-build a few seasons ago in hockey as well. It is how I was able to just shoot up the standings and become a strong team.
Also, the finances in soccer are way different than the finance in hockey (from what I hear, I don't have a soccer team).

Yes, your experience in soccer would apply, definitely. My apologies for not thinking of checking the other sport.
What prompted my own reply was your assessment that the reason to not promote was a fear of losing. The two players, Chad and Elpatzer, are very solid players who have been to I.1 and been pummelled. I didn't think your comment was fair.
Now, the 50 millions is quite nice but do you feel that it makes the loss of OTR? Also, building more seats, again, is nice, but the low standing and poor otr will most likely leave those seats empty.
Would you mind describing a bit more what happened in soccer since I'm not there to witness it?
As for your time demoting that one season, wasn't it after you did a youth movement and just prepared to come back with a huely strong team?

Fair enough, I stand corrected.
And my comment was really about the fact that in hockey (I didn't know about soccer), no matter how good TMO is (and he is, I do not question that at all), he had never really experienced something similar to what these guys are facing and so that he could not dismiss their opinions as just being afraid of losing.
We can discuss the merits of the promotion money, the boost to OTR and if it's sufficient, but let's not start attributing labels to other players who have just experienced the situation we were discussing and do not feel that it's worth doing the yo-yo and that a team needs to be built until it's ready to be middle of the pack in the higher league.
Now, in the lower leagues, promoting from IV to III, the promotion money is enough to buy a bunch of new players that make you middle of the pack almost immediately. This money is twice higher for a promotion to I.1 but is it sufficient to be enough of a factor?

I leave for a weekend and there are 3 pages of suggestions... you all couldn't do this when I'm bored as can be could ya?
From what I gather it's a debate over the current system being adequate enough. I won't voice opinion... only express the voice of both parties in next month's report.

As per latest PPM News release:
"There are a few more things that we will add to the new design in the coming weeks. After all of this is done, our plan is to start concentrating on new challenges, such as development of handball and *****addressing some issues regarding the economic structure of the game.*****"

Suggestion:
Give us more than a day's notice when you'll be shutting down the game for extended hours.
This impacts everyone buying/selling on the market and will cause many players to be sold for prices far under what they're worth.

all market deadlines will be moved. We couldn't issue the news earlier because it was still unclear when we will launch the new design
But that still affects people who set specific deadlines for their players.
Sometimes I sell players with the intent that a certain person will be available when the sale expires (to increase their chances of obtaining that player).
And by moving the market deadlines to you mean that everything on the market will be extended by X hours (where X is the amount of downtime), or will it only be the sales that would have ended during the downtime?

Only sales that would have ended during the downtime are moved. Those that have deadlines after/before the down time will have their original deadline date to the best of my knowledge.
How much extra time is given? What about sales that end within minutes of the website being up again?
