Shooting skill doesn't mean more shots, it means more goals per shot. Theoretically, if you don't train shooting you'll get more shots because your players will become stronger faster thus generating more opportunities. They just won't capitalize on many of them...
So teams built like that have an equal chance of winning than team with proper training? More chances generated but lower % of goals while proper training gives lower generated chances but higher % of goals?
I never actually really checked everything but if a team like [hockey_team=12934] can be successful without proper shooting doesn't it lessen the effect of training it all? Again, I am not saying he shouldn't win at all but just curious I guess.

I suppose it boils down to:
Train Offensive categories instead of shooting: more shots, less shooting percentage
Train Shooting as well as Offensive categories: less shots, higher shooting percentage.
The trick is finding the sweet spot between amount of shots and quality of shots.

Promotion is a joke. This has to be fixed.
Look at all the final series in division II. In all four series, the loser did not want to win. In some cases, a team (e.g. the Royal City Redshift) deliberately bowed out of the playoffs before the finals.
This is absolutely backwards.

I'll have to make more research then. I was just really surprised that a team without shooting could be somewhat competitive.
That's what I hate in this game... I suggested them to do something about it but they didn't seem to want to move theirs fingers.
I can only speak for myself, but I played the second game on very low because I had absolutely no chance, not because I wanted to lose. I will keep my energy for the promotion round.
The problem itself is more deep than just the promotion.
It's because everything is tied to the OTR. Bad OTR, bad sponsors, less money and blablabla. They need to create a system where it's actually very good no matter what to promote which is not the case right now.
They should give OTR bonuses after a match based on BEST 20 man overall of opposing team. So winning a game against someone that put TEAM B or C gives less OTR than a win against TEAM A. It should also by tied to game importance level (winning a game while H against a VL should give less).
So a strong team that wins against a weak league will be penalized because his OTR gain would be lessened.
Then you won't see things like that because it would be crucial for any team to be competive every year.

I can see it being implemented if they use some kind of shoutbox instead of chat room. Kind of like what they have for the market right now for each player/staff put on bid.
The incentive to promote and become a bottom feeder in League I is not enough.
I think anyone who avoids promotion is crazy. There is more than enough 'incentive' to advance. It is a case of teams not liking to lose to better teams.
It is absolutely not worth it to promote if your just going to lose in the higher league. I've been bottom feeding in I.1 for 2 seasons now and it has definitely hurt my teams growth
How can walking away from 45+Mil, 60-80 OTR, and bigger contracts not be worth it? These do nothing but help a teams growth. This is absolutely 'more than enough incentive to advance'.
It's just a shame that too many teams concern themselves with the last sentence from my previous post.
