3 day injury to our top centre is going to make it harder to win game one !This is one of the ones I thought we could win. Keeping our fingers crossed.
Nice win in a close game against Belarus today.
Really turned up the pressure in the fourth quarter to pull ahead and stay there.

At 210, he would have been a nice addition if his numbers were better. We have 2 on the team now, Merkel at 218 and Johnston at 210; however, O'Callaghan at 207 is the starter because the two main attributes for a centre are agression and jumping, and both of his are almost double his closest competitor. This is largely due to the superior training facilities at Hooligans.
Thank you Mr. Hooligans !!

Height is great, but it is much less effective without good major attributes. My Vengeance Stealer team is a good example. My centres are 208,208,and 209 and yet my team is very competitive, often beating teams with 5-15 points more in team strength.
Yeah, my small forward started with very low height but is the best player on my team!
In tough against a powerhouse team from Hungary today. BUT, our home game with maybe a slight overall advantage in height. Hoping for a Gomer Pyle style of game .
"Surprise,surprise, surprise"!
Some of you may have to google that one.

Well...that went pretty much according to script. Doesn't bode well for an even tougher gig against an even stronger Romanian team next game. We may need a little luck to move on this year, and definitely need better shooting. Diggin' deeper into our bag-o-tricks will be a full time job over the next few days!
Expected to lose this one too. Closer than I thought it would be. Close only counts in horseshoes and nuclear warfare. Tough this year as most teams have more 900+ players than we do. Tactics can only compensate for some of the difference. Need a win next game , or we may not make the cut.
If we can't beat Slovenia in the next game, will probably switch to an all 18 year old team to give us a head start on next season. It looks to be just as hard with less help up front. We'll need all the chemistry and experience we can muster.
Have all next years possible 18 yr. olds scouted...not much height.
Most scouting done on 41 possible 17 yr olds. High number beacause I lowered the bar to catch players that might be traded to teams that have better facilities.
Following 28 16yr olds and 28 15yr olds for future scouting.
Looking everywhere for possibles....even tried under a rock in Madagascar!

Kept it close for the first half, but we don't have enough depth this year to sustain a prolonged attack. Starter's shooting percentages drop as they tire, and the back-ups don't have the numbers to carry on. Switching to the 18 yr olds to jump start chemistry and experience for next year. Hopeful that the extra chemistry and experience plus the fact that several of them played this season will benefit us next time around.
We are mathematically out of the final tournament this season, so I have called up a couple more 18 yr. olds and will run with a completely 18 yr. old lineup for the remainder. Our overall team strength is falling behind other countries and will continue to do so until we can boost the levels of our training and academy facilities. We can beat teams whose OTS is only about 5 more than ours through game tactics, but when it is 6 or more, it becomes almost impossible to compensate. Our early head start on chemistry and experience by using the all 18 team for the rest of the season will help us next season. Thanks for your continued support in producing players for the national teams.
