Well I cant see how you mean you have bad luck, you have a team with 4,5 and sixes and act like you should win or be at the top with that team :p
My guess is the game engine heavily punishes having no left/right defenders, much more so than 3 center defenders can make up for.
This would be my 1st guess also. Only 3 defenders and all of them in the centre.
It's different, because there is only 1 forward for opponsing team and he is in the dead centre. The other match has 2 forwards, both on the side centre positions.

I am sure you can always find the reason when you think a little

Not sure for engine

And not forget that we talking about:
17/4 vs 0/9 shoots and 8 v s0 result in situation where team that wins had less possession in midfield for almost 9%, and ball was in front of his goal for 29%.
I can't imagine how he made 21 shoot, only if the shoots were from his own half

It's weekend, but we know the answer:
It can happen - one in a million
It can happen - one in a million

actually less than that I would think. A million games here are played in about 50 days. Here is what I wrote in our team forum when I was informed about this match:
"it is a real extreme result. maybe one in a million. who knows. we simulated it hundreds of times and the worst we got was 5-0.
Here are things that may have contributed to this result:
home advantage, aggressive tactics (home team got more fouls which indicates that maybe it was more aggressive and therefore won more battles), more corners (probably generated more shots on goal even though they didnt score from a corner kick)
We are aware of the fact that results like these are not appreciated by the users and we are also not happy when they occur. That's why we are working on improving the engine."

Well 2 yellow cards - hmm, I get that much in first 15 minutes
I can understand that someone have luck and scores 3 times from 3 shoots. But 21 shoot, 17 at goal, without possession, it's really strange. So it's something you should look at - problem could be little bit deeper then just bad luck and one in a million case.
This season I have see some strange results just in Serbian league - and I am sure it's more of them around the world.
Just one of them (not strange as Brazilian game, but strange)>

Very simular tactic for the team winning big, it probably exist some kind of countertactics in football, just more complex then it was a hockey?
The brazilian game is strange. Its clear that they have to improve the engine, but they know and they will work on it.
But i see nothing strange in the game you posted. As long as it doesnt happen to often its ok to win 7:2 when teams have same TS and you have home advantage. This happens in real soccer too.

In real soccer home teams usually play better and take possession of the ball.
I posted this game because there wasn't advantage in aggressive play.
For me it's always strange if team loose mid possession for 7% and win with 7:2. It's strange to make so many chances and score 7 goals if ball is most of the time in your own half.
What happen in real soccer is bad luck or good tactic.
@soderb
Shouldn't be counter tactics (Vlady says)
I think there is some penalties, but not sure what kind.
And from time to time all dices align - and we get results like this. And I think penalties are made in favor of weaker teams.
