Here's some irony: I'm playing the team I just bought a backup goalie from the other day. He's going to make me look like a chump, too.
Stupid CanAm tournament is altering my development plan. I was going to use that guy as my primary backup and shift my backup to starter so I could put my starter on the market, but if I do that I'm shooting myself in the foot for the tournament. Looks like I have to hold onto my starter until the end of the season or beginning of next, when I'll likely get less money for him than I would now.

I'm curious. Does my SA suck as much as I think it does or is this normal? In almost 10 seasons, I've only pulled two players over 78AQ. Both are 81AQ. And I only have 5 other pulls over 75AQ. That seems pretty weak, but I've never paid much attention to other SAs.
You can find this under Players->Scouts->Players Raised if you have a ProPack.

Would it depress you if I said that since season 9 I've had 4 pulls over 75AQ? One 79, one 80, one 81 (started CL 5/6 though), and one 90.
Although mine could have been particularly strong. So far I have yet to see one player this season that has been worth calling up. I imagine it will start to even out a bit for me.

That's not too far from me. I'm just going to ignore Cory though. I actually have 9 guys over 73AQ, but a lot of them are broken.
Kasper (81AQ) was 4/6 at 18.
Correa has 64 tech Q and dropped top 5/6 2 weeks after he was pulled with low OR.
Beadle has 61 shot Q and 64 tech Q.
Sayers was the worst with a 42 tech Q.
So 9 pulls over 73AQ and 4 were broken from the beginning or pretty soon after.

4 out of the 10 had a least one quality that was bad. So I am averaging one good player every 6 months that sucks.
Just pulled a semi-boneheaded move. I set up a training camp forgetting that I'm still in the National Cup. >.< Granted, I fully expected to lose next Tuesday even with some of my better guys in the lineup, but then I thought I was going to lose this last game too. Anyone else ever done that before?
Not that specific bone-headed move, but plenty of other ones . Regarding the National Cup (and once for the SuperLeague Cup in soccer), multiple times I've forgotten I was playing it the next day and set my team up for a friendly game.
I've gotten lucky and won some of those anyway, but it's never a good feeling to see the news item for a National Cup game played and realizing I sent the friendly game lineup out on Very Low.

I did the exact same thing in, I think, my first season in I.1. I had the week from hell where I was playing the Psychos, Red Wings and the Force. Two of them were on the road. So I said screw that. Then I noticed the NC match. I ended up losing to the Boilermakers. I probably win with my starters. I was ahead of him at the time.
And if you want to see a disgusting Sports Academy, check out my soccer team. I've gotten so many good pulls that I'm confused. I don't know who to keep or who to sell. So I just keep ignoring the fines for too many players.

Oh crap. I'm in last place. Behind a dead team. What the hell is going on here? And you all have such good teams that I might not even catch them. Only 3 teams are under 81OTS. Not including my craptacular team, of course.
Don't worry, my team will continue to lose games it should win while not stealing enough games it should've lost to make up for it and ultimately under-perform to the point of embarrassment.
On another note, why did you only bid once on Yan Desplat ? He seemed like he had a decent enough EQL that you could've used him as a backup at least, and players from that country are so rare that when he gets better I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for a premium.

I agree, he looked very good. I just wasn't around to bid Have you scouted him? I would have loved to have someone from StP&M. If he was close to any of my current starters, he would have gotten the nod to start just because of where he's from.
I'll have him finished up by tomorrow and I'll PM you the stats. My scouting does 65% per day currently. So far based on training I'd be willing to bet the 99 quality I see on his Shooting is pretty close. He kind of makes me want to kick-start the youth movement early.
I know I'm going to get killed eery game, but I'll be damned if my heart doesn't beat a little bit faster every time I click Game Summary. So far that's been a huge waste of extra heartbeats
