dont agree... if you code them as black box tests... then usually not the same code is used

no, you didn't create them to fool yourselves, but you create them in same way
so if there are strange results, tools don't think that they are strange, because it has same logic as match calculation

I guess he wanted to say that if developers think that something is ok, and it's implemented in code, and same developers will design a test simulator, same code will be implemented in simulator too, but that code part could be wrong ! (I only guess)


memory, I work as a test engineer, and, as I know, you could be right ! But, if it was like you said, this problem should occure in same game day to many, many, many users (and the day after too) !
But this is happening only to a limited number of users, so I don't think that there is any problem with their simulators !

yes, you don't know the results of algorithm, but if you create both application and test tools, they will have the same algorithm, because if you think one way, you can't think other way to check it

you actually don't know how many games have strange results, many managers don't go to forums to whine

for a programmer you have very poor understanding of the word "simulator"

the simulator doesnt judge which results are strange or not. all it does it simulates games. we are the ones who judge based on the results that we see.

lets take this game for example:

I have put it into the simulator and simulated it 200 times. Same tactics, energy levels and everything as it was when it was played. 199 times the home team won. The visitor won once.

This means the engine is working fine.

no... if i will create black box test... then i will use no algorithm in the test

my test is:
- run 1000 games
- surprise result is, if team weaker, say 30%, wins...
- if less than 100 games are surprised... than algorithm is okay...

no, you said you have tools to check it, now you say that you're the ones who decides what the strange result is...

you don't said word about simulator...

when I said "we have tools to judge" I meant "we have tools that enable us to judge"

I just got up today and saw 61 unread messages. Nobody's english is at fault...

There is no random results in game ! The better your team is, the chances to win are higher ! (don't miss 'chances' word)

If everything went the way "it was supposed to", sport in general would be rubbish, correct? It would not be so popular, because the best would win all the time.

We ALL know this is simply NOT the case, in real life or in online games.

Real teams, athletes and managers try to give themselves the best chances at winning by trying to get the best training, facilities, staff and playersl.

Online games are very similar, by building your players, your staff and facilities, etc etc, you give yourself a better chance to win.

But just because your team is better than another, does not mean you have the right to win, nor does it automatically mean your team will win, which is basically what some of the posters arguments are based on over the last few pages...

There is a bigger picture, and some of you just cannot see it.

At the end of the day, I'm sure the devs take on board what is posted in these threads, but don't expect them to pander to a small minorities whims and moans... It just aint gonna happen folks.

If there WAS a major problem with the match engine, these threads would be flooded with complaints, but they're not... I see mainly the same avatars day after day..

Anyway, make your team stronger, and give yourself a better chance to win!

I think that there is nothing wrong with the users who complain, and as Memory already said - who knows how many are there. Problem is that most of people who complain doesn't take into account maximal strength of some team. Like - if 4 or 5 seasons from now there is a team that would have 200 in goalkeeping, 180 in defense, 190 in attack and 100 in shooting, and that team loses from a team that has mostly 20 and 30 in strength.....it would be wicked.
I'm just speculating here because I can't see whole big picture.
