I have alot of fun in this game.

Im the top team from my country, and that in itself is a goal Im very proud of.

Last season I finished 3rd in the regular season and the playoffs in Other World 1.I, and with the teams about me in that league, I was very happy to get as high a finish.

This season Im in 5th, 2 points of 3rd, but only 5 points above 8th. Ive lost more games than last year, but so have the rest of the teams in my league.

The other clubs that came through over the last few seasons have been a lot stronger than the ones that got dumped down the divisions, but this is the real changing factor for me.

In most leagues, 1.I... the opposition is getting stronger each season, and for me at least, is the main reason for the outcry from team managers who have probably dominated their leagues for the first 3 seasons.

Yet this very point is being overlooked...
Instead they blame randomness, the game engine, the weatherman...

As I said in another thread earlier on, Im not defending the game engine, I too think it has faults.

Its just too easy to blame everything on the engine...

This is insane if it is the case, and an issue PPM should be looking to resolve straight away.

Why in Gods name would teams struggle through many seasons to get promoted to the top tier, if the riches can be attained in a lower level????
This is baffling to say the least...

I don't see any problem regarding sponsorship deals. You should realize that every level of any facility is 60.8% more expensive than the level before. That goes to build costs and maintenance. The actual gain of a facility, raised for 1 level, is much smaller (let's say 10% comparing level 11 and 10). Wages (staff and players) are apparently rising exponentially also. So catching up with rich and successful teams shouldn't be too hard.
I don't like so called daytraders also. The change of players salaries system make them bloom even more, as I have reminded at the time of change. But salaries will rise exponentially and managing team's economy will become more and more of a challenge. Anyway, seeing rosters of 50 or more players is a sign that something is wrong here. I don't like hard limits and radical change of rules. I have a suggestion to this problem, that is consistent with existing rules and no hard limits are needed:

Everyone still has a chance of having as many players as (s)he wants, but it comes with more costs. So, 5% fee of salaries sum for each player above 40, the percentage should increase with each additional player. (6% for 42nd player, 7% for 43rd player and so on).

Let x be the number of players in a team

If x is less or equal 40, then additional salaries fee is 0 (%).
If x is more than 40, then additional fee is x(x-71)/2+620 (%).

Few examples:
40 or less players: no fee
41 players: now 5% fee, with new formula 5% fee
42 players: now 10% fee, with new formula 11% fee
43 players: now 15% fee, with new formula 18% fee
...
45 players: now 25% fee, with new formula 35% fee
...
50 players: now 50% fee, with new formula 95% fee
...
60 players: now 100% fee, with new formula 290% fee

The sponsorship offers are all about your team's overall. It really doesn't matter much where you play or how high your economic department is.

Well i am a great example of this.

At this season i get less sponsormoney than last season even though my OTR and facilities were better than the season before..! And about 30-50% less money than the top teams at III. league. Why, because i finished last season at 15th place at II.4. The year before that i got promoted to II.4.

At this season it seems that i am hopefully going to playoffs and i am expecting to get around 100 - 200% increase in sponsorship offers. If the increases are like in previous seasons. And why wouldn't they be?

I agree that your Teams OR should be related to what sponsorship deals you get, this is not the problem I see..

The problem is this...

If Im in a league above you, or are several leagues above you, then no matter what my OR is (bear in mind it would have to be quite good anyway if I were a league(s) ahead of you), then I should expect more from sponsorship deals than a team a division or 2 below me.

In most forms of sport this is the case... a team with lower league status does not normally earn more than teams in divisions ahead of them.

I cannot think of any such instances...

Oil I said the TOP teams - most teams that made it to Div I go back down to 2, they never gain enough OR to make any money and end up getting LESS sponsor money than the teams in div 2 and sometimes iii, dooming them to then being a mediocre div II team and being better off dropping all the way down to III to try and make a run back up to div 1 where the top 1-5 teams will have just spaced out the difference even more with cup winners and CL OR boosts.

The top teams go further in the national tourney also gaining larger OR boosts and making that much more money, the gap ever widens and won't close anytime soon. The flaw isn't the money, the money is the result, the flaw is the huge OR boosts for the top teams, I would rather they get a payout for making the CL and making the CWC and get normal friendly OR boosts for winning those games. This way they're rewarded but they're not thrust so far out of reach financially over the other teams.

I can expound forever with examples as I said TOP not one of the scrub teams in Div 1.

During the last PPM off-season someone had a website that people could post their sponsor offers to. It was great and would let others see what type of sponsor offers people were getting in the different leagues. I can't seem to find the URL right now

I finished 9th last season and only got a tiny increase in sponsor offer, and that was with a 4-5 star offer. I'm probably going to finish down around 13 - 14 this season and don't expect to get anything even close to what i got this year.

Which makes me think... should i just throw every game to ensure i stuff up and get demoted, so next season i can dominate Div 2 and get more money?

Or should i buy 50 players and day trade them to hell and just buy my way to a stronger team?

The point being that the system favours the strong teams, and the gap is widening at a horrible rate... and we're only 4 seasons into the game!

Of course the gap between the best and the worst teams is widening. We've only played 4 seasons and 4 seasons ago all teams were even. At some point it can't wide anymore and we're getting closer to that point.

If you want your team to get better, you have to play better and work for it. You can't expect everything to happen automatically. Day trading isn't the only tool for that. You can compete without day trading if you plan your arena, facilities etc. better, use better skill ratios, make better transfers and choose better tactics than your opponents do.

I've seen teams who were in top and played in CL couple seasons ago getting relegated and new teams getting promoted to the top in Finnish div 1. In my league the gap between the best and the worst teams is getting closer season after season. It's becoming harder and harder to increase OTR as a top team.

Well if you have the advantage of being in the high end cups and the large OR advantage and you squander it then you are a bad manager and destined to fail anyhow.

I reckon that the gap is still growing. Last season I ended the season with an OTR of 302.93 and at the moment it is allready past 343!

I think you missed the point.

The top teams have far better OTR and larger sponsor deals THIS season. At the end of the season when we get the OTR reduction they'll still be well ahead on OTR and they will get another big sponsor deal far more than those lower than them.

All those things you mentioned to build a stronger team require money... and as i just showed those stronger teams are going to have EVEN MORE money, so while we're getting stronger, they are increasing even more so thanks to the advantage they have.

I disagree that the gap will eventually get closer... the numbers simply do not work that way.

If you're a top team and teams out of the top 8 are gaining you in OTR then there is an issue, because as someone who's out of the top 8, that does not happen. The OTR does not get closer at all, it just gets wider and wider.

Hell, last season i ended up with 252 OTR, i wont even reach that this season, yet my team is 10x stronger than it was last season. I have better facilities, better staff and a LOT better players.

If i end with lower OTR i'm obviously going to get smaller sponsor offers than this season.

If i'm not even going to hit my OTR i had last season and have a much stronger team than last season... what the hell kind of teams are the top guys having? That extra cash from sponsor offers makes a MASSIVE difference!

Right, managers who have brains just pull away at amazing paces.

Take Leggman, Irresistible Force for example (Not knocking you Leggy) He has a good squad and came out on top in season 1, he has a huge OR boost and continues to build through good management season in and out and just obliterates everyone. Other leagues are the same. If the OR gains were reduced and just money awarded for getting into competitions then the yearly offers wouldn't be so disproportionate.

This is my only gripe / suggestions, the awarding of OR is too haphazard and the overall effects are pretty large on money earned on a weekly basis. The day traders have no choice but to day trade in order to keep up with the behemoths that have been created through the high OR awards if they're in lower leagues working up as they have no way to match the OR growth without cups of their own etc.

The added kicker is that if you promote to league I to early you just get locked into a cycle of mediocrity for 2 seasons, then spit back to league II where you're again mediocre as the top teams had huge OR growth by winning III and II and garnering the money that comes with it.
