My question was simple: Dont you think that it has no logic that we play 85 days of regular season that in the end has no point at all? tha only CWC and CL counts? Only problem here is that someone gets 20-25% more/less money than some other team just because of ONE or TWO matches. We do not have that even in RL

Well, Real Madrid is far from being a team of reference for financial discipline and responsibility. They'll get their loans anyway as they did before.

I have more relevant example: Graz 99ers in EBEL ice hockey league. They've finished 1st in regular season and then were eliminated by 8th team (Medveščak Zagreb, as you probably know) in best of 7 series (2-4). Their general sponsor most probably wont make a deal for the next season, other sponsors wont give as much money anymore. Their budget will go down hard.

I guess there should be more that best-of-3 series in PPM playoffs and so luck would have less influence.

true. it should be best of 7. i think is the right way.

i agree, best of 7 is ideal, and cups at quarterfinal stage should play 2 games, home and away

So if we expand the playoffs, are we going to expand the season? I hear of teams complaining about needing time to do their training camps too, so which do we want, time off for camps, or extended playoffs?

Neither, leave both as is imho.

We need to balance 3 things: regular season, playoff and international cups… now regular season brings nothing regarding sponsors or TV rights and lasts for 80 days. Not logic… after those 80 days everything is decided in very very short playoffs where big part is played by luck between some two good teams (injuries, random, one bad day of some team or goalkeeper, etc), and then – team that «swims» out of this 10—15 days gets OTR gratis from CWC or CL (app. 10 wins in regular season is like 10 looses in int.cups,,,). So we should simply give some importance to regular season, if it is possible - playoff on at least «best of 5» (if we like to compare PPM to RL – I do not know in which SERIOUS league in world is some league decided by best of 3) to avoid too much luck factor (as mentioned – injuries, bad day of GK or some team, etc.). Regular season lasts for 80 days, you cant be top there after 38 matches by luck (if you are on example 20-30% weaker than someone else), but you still can win playoffs with few good matches and get very good results.

So my propostion that would make everythinh better:

1) sponsor and TV offers should also be based on regular standings
2) playoff on best of 5
3) reduce gratis OTR from int.cup (for this is probably too late to do as many teams already got profit from this so it would be unfair that some other teams now would stay wihtout tha)

Personally, i don't care about CWC and CL, I would like to participate because it would be fun, but otherwise? I really don't feel like my life hinges upon those events.

After all, I'm having fun playing and competing with the system how it is, so I really don't see a need for change myself.
