There is a penalty for playing a guy on the wrong side, but i've not heard of this wrong position penalty. I mean, clearly if you play a forward on D he's going to play worse... thats because he's not a defenseman.
But players from SA are not set to a certain position from the start, that job is 100% up to us managers.

Look, if I had a forward with 99 quality in every single of his attributes and I set that forward to defensive training, he will be worse compared to training him the primary and secondary attys to 2:1:1 at the same time regardless of his absolute attribute values.

Well no, that's not a wrong position penalty, that's a manager being an idiot and training his player wrong. No offense intended.
i am really confused now. I don't understand what you're saying.
I think he's saying that if you train your players wrong, the fact that they train bad and play bad is a ppm penalty rather than user error.

Two centers: Both with identical skill level and 99 quality in each attribute.
Center No1 practices overall 40 points with 20 points in primary and 10 in both secondarys.
Meanwhile Center No2 practices 40 points in his defense attribute.
After those 40 days Center No1 has become much better than Center No2. That's the problem.

Of course he has. Why on earth would you train a center as a defenseman? No good manager in this game would do that.
