It doesn't. I thought the same but was corrected. According to the guide it is strictly training camps.
Now that shooting appears to have more of an impact on overall player ability, anyone have any insight into training?
I currently have my automatic practices set for 2-1-1-1 but I am concerned that I might be wasting valuable training days on the shooting if its less important than the two secondaries.
Thoughts?

Shooting will be made many times more important next season with the game engine improvements.
most of my players will get 4-3-3-2 or 4-3-2-2 shot gotta be at 75% of primary att or you wont put your skate on my 2 first line lol
I used to train my guys 2-1-1-1 with shooting 50% of A1, and my shooting stars were very weak. Now, unless shooting quality really sucks (in which case I'm likely to fire the guy anyways), I train shooting at 100% of A1 for both forwards as well as defensemen and my shooting stars are on par with my offense and defense.
oups: Shooting is 100% of A1 for my forwards, but 50% of A1 for my defenders.
Nice. I do about the same with shooting. But I'm training defenders anywhere from 50-100% depending on if they play PP and if Qs make it worth while.
anybody knows why my players played only 2 games in playoffs when they played like 6 games since the begginning of these playoff

Only games on a path to the championship count. So 1/4 finals, semi finals and finals. Placement games don't count for players stats.
Actually there is a place for playoff placement games in the stats now. Once you are eliminated from the playoffs you should be able to find stats in that section of statistics.

yeah, we have added those stats only recently.
I notice that the new stats only show up when you look at teams statistics but they do not show up under individual player statistics. Is this intentional?
