Are Universal players better than one-sider players when they play at the center?

Are one-sider players better than Universal when they play on their better-sided border?

I would say, that U is equal to R or L, whereever he plays.

But L and R are not as good on center as they are on sides, since from center they would need to move to left and right.

So U is at least as good as R or L, and U is better than both on center, IYO.

I agree in parts with jabcek. U is imho like being R and L, so no problem playing them on a side (actually they are better because more flexible).

On the other hand I have seen no evidence or indication that L or R is worse than U in the middle.
However, since it is known that players on the border of their box affect the adjacent box it seems reasonable that a central R/L player has better influence on the R/L side than on the other one IF played at the left respectively right border.
So imho I see for example no problem for a L central player unless he is played at the right border of the central box, because his influence on the right box should be lower.
At least that's my opinion. We can't say for sure because it's not reflected in the rating.

Yeah, it's one of the great mysteries of PPM.
But the guide can also be read in this way, I think.

Here's how I see it:

U playing at center gives 80% to center, 10% to the left side and 10% to the right side.
R playing at center gives 75% to center, 8% to the left side and 17% to the right side.
Same goes for L, just twist the sides.

R playing on the right side gives 80% to the right side, 15% to the center and 5% to the left side.
U playing on the right side gives 75% to the right side, 17% to the center and 8% to the left side.
Same goes for L, just twist the sides.

I think universal should always be trained for winger if he has good quality for speed.
If you have 2 similar CM you should always pick universal.

about the rookies, if I accepted a rookie from the academy, the next rookie will be always weaker than the one I accepted ?

haha, every time I accepted a good rookie, the next Friday I get a weak one, then I wait until a new good rookie come to my club then the whole thing happen again
