Probably because with best-of-5 the last game would be today. And that's too late because of the sponsor offers

3 games for relegation seems fine imo.

My guess would be that they wanted it to start as in every other sport - on Monday. And as of such it would be stupid to be best-of-5, as sponsorship deals are coming in on Thursday. Thus bad for teams that may have 2 games ahead (potential Team Overall Rating loss for first deal).

If they wanted it to be best-of-5 then relegation/promotion round should have started on Saturday, right after PO finals 5th day. My guess that's bad as well, as would have cached quite a bit of teams off guard. And there would be whines about - why it differs from other sports ... They can't please everyone.

But that's just my 50c.

If a team is promoted to a league level in which it hasn't played before, its overall team rating will be reduced by only 20% at the end of the season?
In basketball's guide this information is missing.

Or I don't see.

The guide states the various importances of attributes for certain positions not saying anything about shooting and blocking in this particular part.

Does this mean that the individual rating in game report considers only this five mentioned attributes or is shooting and blocking also included in this?

I'm pretty sure this rule doesn't apply to handball/basketball.

Promotion money for promotion to higher league, is advantage in itself, especially in first season.

And in handball they do not have 20%, its all the same 30% for all teams, no matter promotion.

Most likely to have easier opponents whom aren't that dedicated.
=> Better chance to collect huge amounts of OTR.
=> Higher chance you actually end up in the top of your legue.
=> You do get promotion money for promoting to higher leagues where the teams at I.1 might never get it. (And the ones not doing well on I.1 might never even get that good OTR/Sponsors)

If you start at IV and promote every season and finally to I.1. I would say, even with 30% drops every season, your OTR should be one of the best OTRs in your country. And as you know OTR has huge impact on sponsor deals.

Shooting/Blocking is not included in player ratings, but it's included in calculations of team strenght.

The 3rd type of general sponsor writes, rank 1-8th league place.

It means my own conference (1-8th place), or I have to reach 8th place at least in my league (1-16th place).
