it’s a mechanic the devs put in a while back. If you lose a playoff game with a team strength drastically lower than your season average they reduce your sponsor offers for next season. Completely forgot about it. I’m just not sure how much they decrease.

When it's happened to me in the past, my offers were generally worse than the previous season, despite a better season league finish. But I was also relegating and it was hockey and I found the offer quality (star rating) wasn't quite there at the time. Could all just be RNG being random, though

In other news, I've been using my instant challenges to test out a theory, and it's been proven right:

I can beat pretty much any team in canada with my <24yo roster (leaving out 23yo Easton and Rhodes, even). Except Jedi.

I guess it is time to sell a few more vets and make up some cashflow by reducing the number of players on my team.

The question is: do I go so far as to market Greene and Tolson, who are 28 and 26 respectively? Sale (Greene's "replacement" has a bad CL path (5/6 at 16) and I have no R-sided backs to replace Tolsy (but 2 Us to choose from), but I'd get to have ALL my players within just a few season of each other at the same time (which means when they all get to be 26 I'll be in trouble... Except are we still going to be playing this game at that point? lol)

The other hiccup is that I'll definitely be in either the league champion or cup winner's cup next season, and there, my youngsters are definitely not going to cut it. Heck, my current lineup can hardly win 2-3 games a season depending on which group I get pulled into.

Like I said, first league problems, eh?

Also, the shot that tied that game and sent it to OT was the one and only goal by my backup LW.

It is weird to skip over the usual Snakes vs Chubby Fat Guys playoff round. They were one of the very few teams I wasn't sure how the game would end against.

Only 1 A in this draft... but at least enough Bs that I'll get at least one of them despite picking dead last (among the non-bot teams, at least).

Number of good sports academy pulls this season was pretty low, too. If any of you have got a good one and sold them, do let me know so I can check your history. Sometimes I miss that. The U19 needs all the fresh players it can get!

Absolutely true!! All four sports need all the player development we can muster!!

Well, that was an abysmal draft (there were no As to speak of in my scouting list so it's not really a surprise).

So much trash from the sports academy lately. Even starting teams have players better than 260 OR, don't they?

I am inclined to agree. My last bunch were all 5/6'ers, 1.5 star at best, and between 214 and 269. I don't need that many water boys!!!
