This is of course NOT a swipe to the new guy. But if you Google "the unfortunate results of inbreeding", you will see a screenshot of the Canadian National teams' ownership over the past 10 seasons. Now the results are showing...

You know damn well what we will get now. A few angry voices at the top, &^%$ting on the new guy, telling him how to do his job. Then we'll get the "I told you so! That's why we don't put a new guy in charge!" kind of bull&^%$. No no. That's because no one ever helped them. Not for a minute. It ain't the new guy's fault. It's a fault in the system. A weakness. And we know where that weakness lies.

Will you shut up, man? All you do is come on here to whine and complain and insult people. I'm tired of reading your comments.

If you care so much about giving new people the chance to run the national teams, then YOU buck up and teach them the ropes. If you aren't going to back up your own ideas, then you don't get to come on here and call out others for the same.

But whatever you do, stop with the insults. This is game, people are here to enjoy themselves. If you want to be bitter and spiteful, keep it to yourself.

You still playing? I just got the job as the cellar-dweller Dutch U20 GM for this season. You still interested in learning the ropes? My assistant position is vacant...

(Same guy, last correspondence before he gave up. Lightning fast enough? Yeah, they really came from my mail box. All the other guys from years past are gone. Just like them.)

That's not the only guy.
So what's your problem? I care about the game, especially the PPM game in Canada. I help out the new guys when they come in. Is there a problem with that? I think the other guys who have been in the game a long time, for the better of the game, should do the same. They disagree. I think they are choking out the game. And I say so.

You don't like my comments then don't read them. Ol' Mandy should buy a dictionary and learn the meaning of hipocrite...

You see there is something called school. At school, young people learn. And at school we have teachers, who are older and more experienced. They teach the new people about life. A strong school system leads to a stronger nation. This is the way most countries work.

Other countries see things differently. They have lots of churches. There they have people who (you get where this is going and I am not here to dump on religion...)

Obviously I favour the first system. The guys at the top of the National team mafia in Canada favour the latter. Mandy there is one of them.

Now I don't care who you vote for and who you like and don't like. My comments are pointed at a few people and they know who they are. My comments are for THEM.

I don't like writing this all again because I think most people here read what they want. 3-4 years ago, real time, I stopped running the Canadian national teams and challenged the other senior guys to do the same. Teach the new guys and share the jobs around. Go read back through the senior board or whichever board it was. It's still there.
The other GM's snickered at me and did nothing of the sort. Now, as I feared, the game is shrinking badly and the same old faces run the teams.

Now Kraft you think I should just be polite and quiet about that, yes? Can you tell me why? You see something you love choked to death by a bunch of selfish people and you are just going to quietly go into the night, yes?

Well I'm not. And I'm gonna let them know what I think.

Now I will summarize:

If I DON'T do something, but tell others to do it, then THAT is a hypocrite.
If I DO do something, and tell others to do the same, then that is common sense.
If I DO do something, and criticize others for not doing it too, then THAT makes me an %$$hole. Maybe. And that is your right to express in your opinions.

Here is my version of how you see everything I do, Paul:

If I DO give advice to the new GM, I am actively trying to manage all teams and keep control of the precious national teams that are very one would be lining up for if not for me and my really good friends Bobby Jay and... I guess we are just the two evils of this country.

If I DON'T give advice to the new guy, it's still my fault. I am clearly trying to make him fail by not helping him out. I wish Paul had told me he expected me to help that guy GM.

Also zodiac isn't a new GM. He has 1500 experience which is plenty. Sure, it is possible that he was not aware of the derby to set up a schedule. Even though you say you don't blame him, he would probably have felt more supported if you offered him your support rather than claim that others are gonna shit on him.

I don't care about the advice. Do as you wish; I certainly give them advice too. The point sir is to give them the KEYS to the national teams. That means at a minimum we take on a new guy as an assistant and train him to run the team. Selflessness and giving the guy the whole set of keys for the following season I am sure is WAY out of the question around here, but at least showing the guy the ropes would be nice. It doesn't happen.

I didn't say he was a new GM. I said he was new to the national teams. He has no experience. I immediately sent him a nudge to fill his calendar when I realized the team had an empty calendar. I really don't like others criticizing my help for other GM's. Especially considering that it comes from people who have never have given any opportunity to assist new GM's national team. You see, Mandy there calls me a hypocrite. It's like Donald Trump interpreting the language for his own needs. No I am sorry Donald - the language has meaning, and I am not a hypocrite.

Think psychology here Samuel. If I claim that others are going to shit on him, then who would be stupid enough to actually do that. I didn't shit on him. I said very clearly that it isn't his fault. The fault is a national failure to promote and share the national teams. This is a situation which has been coming for a very, very long time.

I love this game. Those around me in the game know that. I pay, support, promote this game. I have done so for over ten years.

The situation in our national teams goes against the way this game was meant to grow. It is uncompetitive and reeks of power concentration. It is the responsibility of those involved in such a system to say so. Three years ago I did that in a positive, constructive way. You were there and you responded to those comments.

Now the national teams rot. And people don't like the fact that I don't like that, and that my patience has run badly thin. That's too bad man. I can't help people with that.

That is definitely your impression of how it played out and you are entitled to it. You clearly equated national team management with keeping the game growing. I do not believe that link to be true. I think the game has been shrinking for a long time and the state it is in now was indeed foreseeable, but, imo, not preventable.

Because we have different point of view on this subject, we could never agree on the decisions that needed to be taken. At the end of the day, as in any democracy, one person is still just one vote. You may be bitter of the situation, but I disagree that the present situation shows that you were right: the game is and was shrinking. It has nothing to do with national team management. That's what happens when the owners don't invest in their game. Especially with the very long-term nature of this one. I love the game just as you do and I have also invested money in it and keep doing so from time to time. At the end of the day, even though we will never be friends, I don't want you to leave this game as that would throw us further in a negative spiral for Canada. So I will try to do a better job at being civil in our interactions.

I do not necessarily agree that it is not a new manager's fault.
When a person decides to take a more active role in any institution, they almost always
consider the pay and the prestige.
In this case, there is no pay, and apparently not much prestige.
They should have an equal interest in what obligations and expectations go with the job.!!
They should have investigated the job description to see what responsibilities it entailed.!!
It is their resposibility to be aware of what is expected of them so they can decide if they
have the necessary qualifications or if they require additional training before accepting the position.!!
