Well I'm only using three lines, so these players are losing energy faster. I'm considering reintroducing a fourth line given all my market purchases.
Yep... me too. Somewhere in the last season, I remind that I got something nice... but it's like a fuzzy dream.
Got a 3.5 star everything today, Likely a future right wing which is nice. Been getting some nice pulls for about 2 seasons now.
I had a 2 and a half season drought from my academy a few seasons back. Basically players that would be core veterans today had to have their spots filled by market purchases. That resulted with an aging team that wasn't training fast enough to keep up in II.1 nor competitive enough to win. If I keep getting good pulls I might get my homegrown team in a few seasons.

I took a big hit on overall team strength and chemistry coming into this season because I had to get rid of some aging players. My blueline is still quite old, and like you say, they just dont train fast enough to keep up. Thats my next project. I have a couple of prospects from my academy that will turn into good d-men, but they're probably 2 seasons away from cracking the roster, so I wouldn't mind finding a more game-ready younger d-man.
I'm getting maybe 2 or 3 good prospects (75%+ AvQ) from my academy each season. Any secret to your success? How are your sporting directors trained? Do you go high on youth training? Mine are balanced right now to keep the salary down, but I've been thinking about replacing one of my SD's that is 60-60, with a guy that is around 70-20. I don't really care too much about training camp, its only 14 days of training anyway, and the chemistry you lose when you put guys into camp is almost as valuable as the training bonus that you get....
Just started downsizing some of my staff too, salaries are out of hand. I think I'm going to go down to 1 lecturer as my staff really doesnt need any training right now with the exception of coaching/physio.

If you mentioned my name in this post - I haven't actually read it. Too many words. I spent all day coding up my CV in LaTeX. It's worse than it sounds.
u get 2-3 75%+ AvQ a season?!
I have had 2 in 8 seasons and one of them was 5/6 CL.
Oh FML

I got a 4.5 star CD in soccer. 4.5 star winger but was 5/6 and at 17 is now 4/6 so that hurts haha. Only two good pulls ever (next to Garnett who is a dinosaur now).
For one thing I don't look at their AQ but rather their effective qualities based on the attributes I will be training. For example I have a player with an AQ of 67 but an effective quality of 79. I also take career longevity into account, a player with an AQ of 80 with a C/L of 4/6 at 17 is worth less than an 18 year old player with 70 AQ and perfect longevity. So far this season I got 2 players, 5 last season and 7 the year before. The year before that it was only 1, and barely.
I've been keeping track of my pulls and I noticed a huge difference after buying new staff with high youth training on the market. They have provided me with more high quality players and better longevity than my previous staff. The down side is that they cost 10 million per year which could alternatively be used to buy prospects on the market instead of relying on the lottery. With my team being well stacked in prospects for the time being I plan on selling them after I am done with my upcoming training camps.
