Neath showed up only as an A both before and after I picked him up. I've had players change from A to B after picking them, so I thought the letter you see once a player has been picked was the final potential ranking? Unless that's ALSO determined by your scouting ability, in which case I have 96%, and I saw no A+s, sorry

I can tell you Neath wasn't an A+ now. 4-star C, 425 OR. I've had Bs turn out 3.5 stars so, yeah.

I think I now have 9 centers in the pipeline. Need to unload one of them as soon as this training camp is over, lol.

I use the draft to try to balance out my roster - prioritizing positions I need when players of equal scouting rating are there.

Well, since B players hardly ever make the squad anyway, and I also wasn't online when the 1st pick happened, I figure I may as well keep the C guy. I have an oldie on his way out, anyway. I don't, um, balance my squad much. Focusing more on the National Team prospects than I do my own team these days. And yes, the daily fees are exorbitant.

I believe in balance as well, but since I seldom see "A"s or am in a position to draft them, most of mine are likely to come from offshore. Still working feverishly on the "big 3" facilities.

Aaaand my drought with the draft continues! Last "decent" pick goes back to Feb 2017 in Bart Crossley (who solely made the U20 because of his defense attribute).

Last GOOD pick was Davison in october 2016.

Honorable mentions to Alexander Gregoire whose CL is so low you have to go to the basement to see it, and Harry Menard whos shooting quality sucks so bad he couldn't put the puck into a soccer net.

Why do we waste so much time scouting these guys, again?

I wish any of my drafted players were that good on day 1 of the ssn. My draft sucks this season.

You're closer than I am. A couple of 200 managers, and you should see some improvement. I'm close from a staff point of view, but only at level 14 for human resources and academy. as one of my younger past employees put it, "It's a matter of economics"!

Well, the main quality is 76%, that's kinda crappy. I'd rather trade the passing quality off, or even Tech. Plus, I'm typically more of a 4:3:2:2 so that lowers my EQ a bit (although with those qualities I may as well Off==Sho)

EQ, effective quality, captures the whole picture. That player could be 90-90-90-90 and would train the exact same OR over the course of a season.

Say for each Q they train 0.02/day.

76 = 1.52/day
99 = 1.98/day
88 = 1.76/day
90 = 1.80/day

With your player build, at 2:2:1:1, you're looking at 10.74 OR per 6 days. Four attys at 90 get you 10.80 per 6 days (difference due to rounding).

That primary quality only makes a painful difference if you train to something crazy like 10:2:1:1, which only brings his EQ down to 82, given how good his other qualities are.

Yeah maybe I need to make the move for managers with good scouting. It's so expensive to have all those 180k-200k salaries per day though :/

I will most likely make that move soon, but I really wanted to finish building my arena before crippling my cash flow too much. I will launch work on my last section in a few days and then I can start paying more for staff/players.
