Popularity
Each player has a certain level of popularity, which indicates how popular he is amongst the fans. Popularity rises with his performance and with his position in the league statistics. Popularity rises faster in the higher divisions. The levels of popularity from the lowest to the highest are: Unknown, Known, Popular, Admired, Famous, Celebrity, Worldwide Star and Superstar. There are two main advantages to having popular players on the team. They increase attendance and also souvenir sales.

Warning! Popularity of a player may also decrease. The more popular the player is, the more popularity points he loses after a bad performance. This does not apply to friendly and tournament games which have no influence on the popularity of the players.

That number is from 11/29/13. Initially they estimated beta in March. No updates since Nov though, so could be pushed back.

Can anyone explain what exactly contract means? I read the guide but am not able understand one thing.
Till the player reach the age of 26, the team that owns a player can keep renewing the contract for a period of 112 days. Does renewing a contract involve offering a lump sum amount + a new salary amount (as determined by the standard key)? Or is it just agreeing upon the salary?

It just raises the salary for the next 112 days.

This was weird. I was considering whether to sell a player or just terminate the contract. I clicked the terminate link...and instead of the box telling me how much it would cost, it just said the contract was terminated. Anyone else have this happen lately?

No. Chemistry is mostly on how much a player plays.

What does it mean when it says "manager account is blocked"? Is that done due to lack of activity?

No, it usually means they were cheating (or trying to cheat) with making multiple accounts being the most common violation, I would imagine.
