world rank is important thing before every draw of qualification..i helped national team to third pot before draw first time in history.there are teams from 17th to 24 place in world rank .. national team finished 23th last season..you lost one strong team ääfrom 17th to 24th place this qualification,,.i had half of points from friendly matches last three seasons,,,how you can say that you dont care for results in friendly matches
how you can say that you dont care for world rank

From earlier...
2. Friendly matches, in my opinion, are meaningless except for using different formations and tactics.
How many times do I need to answer this question?
4. ...Friendly matches, in my opinion, are meaningless except for using different formations and tactics.

5. Yes, world rank is important.
But read the first post here again, I've explained my stance on energy usage.
This will not change.
6. Third time I'll answer....

From even earlier..
Friendly games will be played on Very Low Intensity.
I don't care about the results, they will be only used for experimenting with different formations, and using the squad at my disposal. The last manager clearly placed a lot of value in these games and although they help with a countries ranking, they are meaningless to me and give a false reading as to a countries real standing.

If by now you still don't know where I stand on friendly games... then I give up.
Stop flooding the thread asking the same questions.
It is boring now, and I'm pretty sure anyone reading this thread is bored of the same thing.

for example
win against strong team as canada in qualification around 1000 points
win against paraguay in qualification just 500 points
win against canada in friendly match 500 points
win against bad team in qualification is same as win against strong team as canada
why you still dont understand what i saying

i dont care how you will play your matches,,it will be your decision which strategy you will select
but world rank is very important thing for not strong team as Ireland
you have just two ways how to get ireland to top 24 to 3rd pot again
first way very good results in qualification and tournaments
i found second way how push national team to top 20
friendly matches against strong teams from top 10 top 20 top 30 for 500 points per match and good results in qualification
do you still dont understand what i saying

do you still think that i played meaningless friendly matches aginst strong team for 500 points to world rank per match if i had chance to play
do you still think that i played friendly matches for my own statistics because i didnt play friendly games with bad teams as paraguay malaysia
i played friendly matches against strong team from top 10 top 20 top 30 as slovakia usa romania
i played friendly matches against strong team from top 10 top 20 top 30 as slovakia usa romania
Like you don't care how I play, I don't care how you played.
Now, let's leave it at that.
You have your opinion, I have mine.

you have good position in world rank you can concentrate to qualification and challenge cup C
but you need 6 000 points at the end of every season at least
good luck emerald

A red card cost us the win today v Greece who played Very High against Irelands Very low.
All things considered, not a bad result, but could have been better only for the red card as Greece were tactically beaten today.
Roll on next week.

Irelands first loss with me as manager (2nd stint) today v Greece who played VERY high intensity as I expected they would.
Ireland played VERY Low intensity as I planned and there was not a massive gap in the performance as one would expect.
We move on!

The Senior team got through to the next round of the PPM tournament following a narrow defeat to the winners of the group, Slovenia and 2 wins v Saudi Arabia & Sweden!
Ireland's next opponent is against a strong Russian team, we will do our best to get a result but in my first tournament as Irelands manager this time around we have already achieved a great goal of getting through the group phase.
~
Also, Ireland have surpassed last seasons total of rating points before the end of this season.
Last seasons rating points: 5598
This seasons rating points: 5764
There is also potential to add more rating points before the seasons end, but today's game v Russia will be very, very hard.
Overall a good season for the Ireland senior team with a record so far of:
8 Wins
5 Loses
4 Draws
Hopefully Ireland can make history today and reach the next round of the PPM tournament, the first time for Ireland!
Fingers crossed.

Thanks dude!
Unfortunately I think my team angered the Russians by scoring inside the first minute!
A 4-1 defeat!
I don't think the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game to be honest. We had the same amount of shots as the opposition and had almost 50/50 possession.
I chose not to go all defensive in this game as tournament games are there to be won, alas this was a step too far for the boys - maybe next time!
~
Next season Ireland will try and secure a spot in the World Cup - We are placed 5th at the moment, but within touching distance of the teams above us.
It will be a tough ask, but we'll certainly try and get through!

tough luck mate, was worth a bash. on a personal note was delighted to see U17 final contested by two teams from my qualifying group, neither beating us during my tenure. Hope springs eternal!
Yep - good job this season man, it's tough with the Irish U-17 team, very tough!!

I just checked the senior NT result, the Russians who beat Ireland were the eventual champions of the PPM Cup!
So I fee a bit better abut the last game knowing this fact!
