team lost 2 points at home... it isnt win, it is lost match...
Well, I wouldn't say a draw is a win here, because it drops us to fifth in the group, which is below the qualification line. But it does keep Canada close, and we're only a point behind Switzerland, who we play next week.
A win can mean much more then actually winning... The Canadians have a great team and I was happy with that result...
UncleSamuel has been AFK since the beginning of May, so everyone make sure you vote to replace him as the U20 manager.
Yes, I was going to post about this as well.
I've been running the team since UncleSamuel disappeared, and I plan to run to replace him for next season.

well ... i tried messaging several people before he was elected as i expected something like this would happen ...
I've selected the lineup for the PPM U20 Football Challenge Cup. I've called up 20 players for the first game, leaving two spots open for some flexibility or in case of emergency. The call-ups, with their most recent IGR's, are:
G - Ward (24)
G - Shipp (24)
SD - Keen (26)
SD - Eaton (26)
SD - Beadle (25)
SD - Ruffin (25)
CD - O. Hammons (26)
CD - Varney (26)
SM - Perez (24)
SM - Buckley (24)
SM - Crenshaw (28)
CM - Chester (28)
CM - T. Hammons (27)
CM - Elliott (26)
CM - Howard (25)
SF - Wofford (33)
CF - Adams (37)
CF - Holmes (34)
CF - Cosby (34)
CF - Diaz (33)
Half of these guys are 18 or 19, which means this will help to build up experience and chemistry for them for next season as well; I'm rather optimistic about the returning players we've got.
For the two spots left open, if anybody moves into them I'd expect it to be Wagner (G, 22), Strauss (SM, 25), Dylan (SM, 30, once his Appendicitis clears up), Lovell (CF, 32), or Brand (SF, 34). Depends on what we end up needing.
Our group is pretty stacked for division C...Spain and Estonia are both a bit above us in terms of TS, so we've got our work cut out for us here. Fortunately we have a pretty deep team, especially at forward, so I'm thinking that getting fresh legs on the field at the right times could make the difference for us.

Yeah! I'm pumped about today's U20 win against Estonia...we controlled the game well, especially in the middle of the field, which bodes well for the next couple of games, particularly against Montenegro where that could get us a good advantage. Something went funky with the Ruffin substitution. I suspect he somehow ended up at CD, which would explain his IGR, although the substitution I have set up puts him at RD, so I don't know what happened there.
Montenegro pulled a slight upset of Spain today, which makes things very interesting in the group. If we can take care of business against Montenegro tomorrow, then we'll be in great shape to advance out of the group round.

U17 had a great result as well picking up the draw against Hungary. Hungary's the clear favorite in the group with a TS of 96 while Canada, Switzerland, and USA all have a TS of 84.
My bad....I was a game ahead about Montenegro. Today was Spain, where we earned a somewhat disappointing 0-0 draw despite putting 8 shots on target. However, with Montenegro's win against Estonia, that means we just need a tie against Montenegro to secure advancement to the next round. They're already locked into advancing, so I'm hoping they'll let the intensity up a little bit and we won't have too tough of a game, although I'm certainly setting the lineup in preparation for a hard-fought match.
The injury to Beadle is a serious bummer, because he's a solid side defender who can fill in on either side. Ruffin will start this game, but if we advance to the next round I'll call up Tony Strauss to spell him at RD. Unless a goalie gets hurt, I'll probably also call up Nate Dylan to take over at RM.

Wow. Well, I guess that's what happens when you play a man down after the 16th minute, especially when your game plan is to carry the attack through that one man all game.
Hopefully Estonia can play the spoiler...if they beat or tie Spain then we dodge a bullet and move on anyway. That game happens in about an hour.

Not sure why they even played on very high. Strange.
