I'm sure he's just joking.
Anybody with at least some knowledge of hockey would know that.
Who can possibly be stupid enough to call a top-tier team Canada goaltender overrated.

Anderson has been unbelievable. To call him over-rated though is a little early to tell. Consistency is key to be a #1 goalie. We've all see guys with great seasons fall quickly. I love he story of Anderson and hope he keeps ripping it up as a #1
Luongo looked shaky and over-matched at the Olympics and handed the Americans a chance to come back by dropping a simple flip in and creating turmoil in the zone. After the Olympics he did nothing but suck, allowing one soft, deflating goal after another. Andy Raycroft looked better in the final month of the season.
This season Lou was 16th in SV%, 18th in GAA and 13th in shutouts. Yes, he was 5th in wins, but that credit has to be shared moreso than the other statistics.
The numbers are hardly elite and after watching him play a good chunk of games this year, I can understand why they aren't. He may be good enough to win with, but Luongo could very well wind up costing the Canucks more games in these playoffs than he steals.

Apparently, I can be that stupid. Goaltending was Canada's weakest position at the Olympic games. It was the only position that we didn't have a current bona fide superstar. Brodeur is nearing washed up territory. Two years in a row now he's been poor in the playoffs, and his Olympic performance speaks for itself. Luongo played good enough to win (barely) when he took over and he's been trash ever since (see his numbers posted above).
Canada doesn't have a Ryan Miller calibre goalie and if we continue to win on the world stage it will likely be despite our goaltending rather than because of it. So, just because Luongo is one of Canada's best doesn't mean he's one of the NHL's best.

I'll just have to agree to disagree otherwise this thread will be full of back and forth arguing.
Victory is mine!
Let his play do the talking. Here's hoping that he proves me wrong.

The great goalie debates
As for Luongo and Miller.
I see Miller as Great with touches of Good
I see Luongo as Good with touches of Great.

I see Luongo in the second round and Anderson and Miller...golfing.
And Luongo played well, with a few great moments (a few meh ones too)
And Miller played Great, Great some more Great, and a sprinkling of Good.

Habs good to go....amazing that they finally get to the level that we were expecting them to be at the beginning of the season !
