As I said in the other topic, once there's a logo and mascot I can setup a blog/news board to support the bid.
Ok - Ill work on this tomorrow.

It's quite obvious that mascot could be only one thing and this is Irish Troll. I can't imagine anything else for a mascot in Ireland.
And the main motive on logo should be a shamrock (like on jerseys)
I think that these are most characteristic things of Ireland. Except Guinness and Jameson of course

The cut image of the hockey player is not sharp enough.
My advice is to make the player cut, clearer.
Also, the colours are not quite right.
The hex values for the Irish flag are..
Green: #009A49
