Unless France beat Italy away by 7 goals later tonight, Ireland are going to the World Cup!

France could only manage a 1 goal win tonight which means it is official....

Ireland, ranked 22nd in the world, are in Group 7 of the World Cup.
The teams they will face are:-
Denmark (Ranked 8th in the world)
Belgium (10th)
Switzerland (41st)
It will no doubt be a tough group to get out of, but that is my intention.
It would be a great success to make it to the next round considering this is the first World Cup Ireland will play in.

A narrow defeat against a strong Belgian side, and 2 red cards in tonights game v Switzerland means Ireland will not reach the next stage of the World Cup.
But at least we made the finals for the first time in Ireland's history.

instead of criticising what advice do you offer?
If you want the strongest line-up possible, play as many of your players as you can in the next friendly game.
You will see there are at least 3 or 4 better players you are not utilising.
Make that your starting point - playing a weaker line-up than what is available to you makes no sense.
