Awesome idea, and pretty realistic too. An amazing player would not just simply pack up and go home if not drafted...

Could we make trades in the draft. You couldn't do it in years since people move leagues but like for money? Players? Good idea, Bad idea?

I would love to have some type of trading implemented (be it draft or players or something), but I do totally understand the problems it poses in this sort of game (cheating), so I understand why they have never (and likely will never) implement such a feature.

It would make it much more interactive though. If not anything else, it'd be nice to see more U.S. players staying in the U.S. When we bid against the rich foreign teams on the market, there's little chance that we'll actually win out that way (even if we really, really want the player that's available).

Yeah because once the payer is out of the US. It is pretty much out of our control for NT purposes. The trades would bring up cheating but would be fun. But I know it will likely never happen.

Managing the U18 hockey team, foreign managers have usually been very cooperative if I have a request for the training of a player. Foreign teams also could have good facilities to train the player and will start the player if the player is good enough, the same as domestic teams.

Players on foreign teams can easily be found by searching the transfer histories of domestic teams (this doesn't capture players that are terminated, but these players are very unlikely to be relevant anyway).

On the other hand, some U.S. managers don't even pay attention to how young players are trained (the players end up trained 500:50:50:50 or something).

Agreed that trades would be fun but difficult to implement for the reasons suggested.

Impossible. Can you image if i gave my league 1 players to somebody in league 3 and he would dominate and destroy everyone? I think not a lot of people will be happy. Plus how will the training work. So not gonna happen.

Do the managers just like tell them get that up to that and stuff like that. I mean I would do it if the national team asked me to...

Is it just II.1, or do managers in other leagues with a decent sports academy find it much easier to scout for drafts in handball? I can scout over 80% of the players in handball with a relatively average sports academy. In basketball, I can scout less than 40% of the players with a relatively strong sports academy. I've had the same level sports academy in both for a while (though my staff is about twice as good in handball).

It makes sense. In basketball, the scouting time is cut in half... but all the other metrics are the same: the number of players available, number of possible draft picks, etc.

It's not really that shocking. If you could only scout for 14 days in handball you probably couldn't even about every 6/6 CL prospect.

The problem is that the number of players should be scaled to the change in scouting time. I think it would be better to increase the number of players available in handball since scouting for the draft is too easy, making it easy for everyone that scouts to find all the 6/6 CL star players. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind it if the scouting was as easy in every sport. In any case, I don't really see a reason for intentionally creating the difference in the player pools. It might even be something of a mistake.

oh well yeah... if you're asking "should it be this way," i tend to agree with you. Basketball scouting is too hard, and handball scouting is too easy.

Not only that, but the way the structure is set up, there's no difference between the number of players that a team with a level 15 SA can scout and what a team with a level 13 SA can scout. That's not right imo... considering that that difference of investment is in the order of hundreds of millions of $.

And besides any of that, I still say that it's absolutely preposterous that the number of players you can scout is based entirely on the level of your sports academy, and not the HR Department (you know ... the ones that actually DO the scouting).

But I fear that this ship has already sailed. How often do the creators of PPM actually revisit something once it's released? Sure, the draft was in a bit of a BETA testing for a little while, but I highly doubt they'll make many changes to how it works now. They've moved on and are focused on other things.
