They had 2 points in the second half! Wow that's a new record.
I'm kind of amazed at how well I get cucked in the National cup so often.
In the last 6 NC's I've been defeated by 4 teams: Purple Lotus, War Pigs, Chicago Suckers(x2), and the Oregon Eagles
Now I'm not trying to discredit my opponents, especially since I've lost to them fair and square many times and have gotten lucky a few times myself, but the reason I say cucked is because I have a specific meaning for that.
I use that term for it describes the situation the best. In those matches I had prepared for many hours researching the matchup and selecting the best tactics, and spent more energy (or the same at least). I did the experts estimate to find out that out of 100 simulated games I had had the higher chance(to varying degrees of course depending on my opponent) of winning each of those games.
I understand that this game has RNG and I'm not gonna sit here to complain and pretend that I didn't get lucky running the gauntlet in the playoffs last season, but dammit I 10/10 would have rather won the national cup (or got 2nd) and got placed 4-8 in the playoffs, than win the playoffs and get cucked on a random round in the NC (RIP season 12 and 15)

Don't know why you even bother to waste your energy on CL. If it makes you feel better, I also performed terribly in NC, each time for different reasons. This year couldn't login to change game importance and played quarterfinals on very low. Last years War Pigs and Oregon Eagles consistently made it to top 4, maybe they have some secret for NC.
I fear having to play against you more than anyone else tbh.
But you still stole the championship from me the only season my team dominated the league
The New York Giants gave the New England Patriots a lesson in the dangers of domination.
Complete domination is a term you can only use at the end of the last confrontation.
The '72 Dolphins can say "dominated".

To my credit, the only time I haven't made it to the finals since I came back to I.1 in season 9, was when I placed 5th in the regular season and took 9th in the league overall.
Once again, I get the Chicago Suckers in the NC well before Quarters, I prepared for 3 days this time, but alas even though I played on very high and they on normal. Even though my tactics actually worked. My players shit the bed on shooting for no particular reason. And then to spite me the RNG decided to let me win against them later in the day in a league game I shouldn't have won, which wasn't nearly as important.
Another season, and another shot at CWC gone because apparently the NC is more "spicy" with RNG seeds. I've never understood why people liked the idea of putting top seeds against each other earlier in the NC, it just weakens international performance for smaller countries.

Amen to that brother! I bought the same biscuits, only to make matters worse, I lost to my little brother !!!
Have been there before myself. Despite having few championships, I have never won NC (once made it to the final). Quite a few times I was eliminated by teams I thought were weaker than mine.
The idea of NC comes from European soccer(and possibly other sports in Europe), in every country they have such a cup where teams are paired randomly and you can get knocked out in one game. It does happen in reality that top teams meet in early stages. People are quite happy with it in real life.
Personally, I prefer this system to the league cup in PPM's soccer, since in the league cup I almost always finish in the same position(plus/minus 2) as in the league, so there is really no reason to hold it.

I think the reason for that is BECAUSE the cup doesnt matter, it ends up being the same. When the regular season ranking is the deal, they dont have to try to conserve energy for the cup, and as such IMO a more even and expected result. When you have to worry about the cup at the end of the season as the final ranking, games dont become as important in the regular season if you can afford to lose them and make the cup. I myself use that strategy quite frequently.
I won the national cup last season. I won 2 out of 3 of my Cup Winners' Cup games so far and should likely advance to the next round. This season, I lost in the first round of the national cup.
Man i have some bad luck with this draw haha!
also, what is up with this national cup format? seems very odd
