just started and have some basic knowlege of soccer and was wondering if there where any tips or tricks i should know.

I am a year and a month ahead of you. I first worked on getting the large stand-ups, (pressboxes and souvenirs )my HR to 10 and maintenance to 5. I also asked the bigger teams if I could play away games at their stadium as it is one of the biggest source of income. If you do grab some staff just turn off the automatic contract extension(ACE) and train them 1:1 Except on the two managers. Turn on the ACE and let them build up. They help with scouting players and contracts. For football wait until the new season starts before you build some stands. Start scouting the top teams for your ratio's for positions. Do not give anyone the season end bonus. You will not have any of these players soon enough. Then set up your depth chart for positions and slowly swap out the players with the ones you pull from the academy or players you purchase for 10k. I do a leapfrog for purchases. Always grab OR that is 50-100 higher than your current best player at that position. Just drop the lowest and just build up the arena as you learn the game.
