You get a bigger welfare check simply by being in a higher league even if you lose more games. Whoever in 1.1 gets a bunch of good pulls in seasons 1-3 will dominate the sport for a good 15-20 seasons.
My plan for handball is to cross my fingers for 1.1 and some good pulls early on.

Some people choose lower league for the challenge of promoting all the way up (themightyoil did that in soccer). The highest bidders (in credits) will get first crack at the league they desire. After that not sure, it may go by longest on the waiting list for that sport.
A la Montreal Strippers and Kenora Stingers/NKDJ? That's (kinda) my plan too. I hope good pulls are hard to come by, from the looks of my only pull (0.5* 107 OR) that may be the case XD
I'll try it out. I tried soccer a couple times but ultimately just don't follow the sport enough in real life to really know what I was doing/care enough to figure it out. Handball sounds even more complicated, so I'm not sure I'll stick it through.
You should still sign up for soccer, we've lost some good teams to inactivity and our NT can use some good pulls. Just invest everything in SA and check once a week
I don't have any interest in soccer (can't wait for handball), but I could start a team again and just invest in the SA if it would help other Canadian teams in the long run.
You start with new teams, new leagues. All that remains is your name and stadium name etc. But you can even change that for free in the first week or two.
