Beyond the 2:1:1 or 4:3:2 primary:secondaries ratio, has anyone observed an improvement in performance with a more balanced goalie? We know that for forwards and d-men the 'other' attributes will effect the player's performance, but what about for goalies?
Will higher defense mean greater defensive zone awareness and safer outlet passes? With higher offense will the goalie start some quick break-out attacks? With a high shot will he fire the puck high off the glass and out of the zone? Will a high aggressiveness mean that he will win races to the puck, keep opposing forwards out of his crease with Eddie Belfour style slashes to he back of the knee, and propel himself into flying poke checks a la Tim Thomas?

That's something worth investigating. I'm wondering if the "goalie screw ups" are reduced if your goalie has high Def.
Currently I'm just doing a straight 2:1:1 build and not worrying about any other atty's. Anyone else doing anything different?

stan7777 has done so looking into this. They are his thoughts to share so I won't comment. But I personally haven't tried it out although it would be good to look into formally for sure. I have two very even goalies... except one lost weeks of training due to injury. Perhaps I will train one of them 2:1:1 and the other 4:3:2 and maybe even toss some def on one and not the other... or agr or both.
I can't stand when my goalie plays the puck only for my player to "hesitate and get hammered" and the puck ending up in front of my net. Makes my heart jump into my throat every time.
Im in the same position and about to try the same thing. But plainy testeing the 4:3:2 vs 2:1:1.
Im doubtfull about a 4th skill on the goalie position tough

I hear ya. Vlady's commented that only goal/tech/pass are relevant but one would think def and agr should play some role. Eitherway. I have two guys around 100/75/50. I'll likely build one to 150/75/75 and the other to 133/100/67. Same bundle atty count. Think that will be a good comparison.
Im thinking the same, and my goalies actually have about the same values as yours there. but you have a goaltending rating of 50, and me 44.
The goalies are: Goal:112, Pass: 51 Tech: 71 and
Goal: 108 Pass: 50 Tech 71
Perhaps have Ive mistaken myself and the Pass is suposed to be the higher value of the 2 (despite the guide mentioening it as the 3rd value) ?

No no. Pass is the lower. Your pass and tech is only slightly lower than it should be. My rating is with both goalies dressed. Do you dress both stars or just one and leave the other scratched to strictly train.
Not sure I get how u mean dressed. They are set as Gk1 and Gk2 in game yes. I do however not change goalie during the game. Perhaps its a question of chemistry or experience?
Perhaps. Could you PM me their attributes, energy and experience. Who is G1 and who is G2. I want to compare and see how close they are exactly to see why my goal is higher.
Id gladly do so, since I seek the same information
