Bid. He is at or above my 18 year olds.
Garfield HC has not connected since June 2nd and he sold off all his team in one day. It seems to me like he might have decided to quit. We need to check on his youngsters to see what is worth saving through NTs.
George Hobson
Simon Hatty
Logan Aldridge
Funny thing is, though, it looks like he sold the vets in favor of a really young, high avg Q team. Maybe he got tired of having people offer 130M to his RFAs? xD

It is possible that he has not given up, but merely decided to throw away his competitiveness in order to go young, so I will not add any players yet, but I will try to watch closely the situation. How many inactive days does it take for one to lose his team?
From the guide:
Manager who doesn't log into his team for more than 21 consecutive days will be dismissed by the team owners. Managers are always dismissed at 23:50 CET.

He has:
maxed out arena
excellent facilities
good staff
A young high AvgQ player base
$300,000,000 net from transfers
and
with only 17 players (the minimum), they will gain experience and chemistry quickly.
Just trimming the fat and taking a couple of steps backward to make a run and jump into a great future?

Hatty and Hobson have been added to the team. There may be more to come. Unless he shows up really soon, it looks like another strong team leaving us.
Hey Krokador,
Do you think Aldridge is worth picking? Since it is near the season, I don't mind filling up the spots, but I feel Aldridge's low OR may prevent him from being used in U18s. His high Qs may make him a solid player eventually though. You think he will have closed the gap enough for U20s?

I don't really have time to go with much more than very simple Maths here this morning, but
92-96 Q = ~1.8 training / day
74 Q (tech) = ~1.5 / day (but needed on a much smaller ratio than the other attributes)
Bonus shooting 89 Q = ~1.65 a day
So overall maybe an average of +1.7 / day.
* 112 days = 190 OR
+ 14 days of training camp (camp with max facility is typically about regular training * 3, so 14 * 2 * 1.7) = 50 extra OR
current = 439 + next season training (240)
OR at the end of his 16yo = 680
give him a similar training year at 17yo if his CL doesn't drop, CL at end of 17 = 900
End of 18 = 1100 ish?
Current number of 18yos with OR < 1100 who are called up (in a dwindling participation as far as top canadian teams): 6
So given he goes to a top team, gets trained right (his tech not entirely left out, shooting up a bit above average), his exp keeps rising (he's already got 4), he'll very likely be a staple on the team as a PP defenseman.
Although if he plays a lot of games, his OR might end up being a smidge lower from the tiredness, but he would still pretty decent as an 18 yo. And probably top tier by 20 (given his CL doesn't drop super fast, anyway).
It's a gamble and my Math has been known to be wrong a lot xD but this is all I got for now

Good enough for me
thanks.
I forgot to also take in consideration that D tends to be a position of weakness, so yes, he could/would make the U18S in a possible playing capacity.
Thanks again.

Cristobal Cornett has been added to the team in order to salvage the talented youth of Garfield HC.
This now puts us at the limit of 50 players. Sorry to those who felt their 18 yo players deserved to be on the team this year, but I believe patience was the right approach as we needed those empty spots now.

We are very excited for the U18s WC starting tomorrow. We worked hard all season to prepare our team as well as we could for this tournament. We are facing a stiff challenge as the countries we are opposed to have more managers (with exception to Belarus who raises a good team with few managers. Props to them).
However, the game happens on the ice and we hope our preparaton will yield the results we desire.
Enjoy this time of the season, it's a good one.

Oof... What a game to start the tournament. Our youngsters played with our hearts...
They took an early lead 1-0 in the first period and managed to hold on... until 30 seconds left in 3rd period. When the czechs took their goalie out, they managed to tie the game and they went on to win in OT.
A heart breaker, but we gotta pull back and get wins.
