The best scoring defenseman in the league is an injury replacement.
That's insane. And more proof that I need more defensemen.
Just buy a few cheap 30 year olds or something like that. If you take your time, you could probably find a bargain at some point, retaining money for other purposes.
Probably, the price on 1/6 players is ridiculously low. And I only need two of them, around 800 OR, so it shouldn't cost me more than 1.5 mil or so. The main thing I need to look for is experience.
I read somewhere that a player with 100 experience could be considered to give a 20% bonus. Whatever the proper conversion ratio is, experience isn't everything.
I mean, I'm not going to buy a 400 OR with 100+ exp. The player will still be good, I just want experience to go along with it.
Maybe I should buy the oldest players I can find and rename my team "Detroit Red Wings".

Well then . . . Tommerup just got placed on the Denmark U20 team. This makes him my first national team player, and he'll be off my team tomorrow. Derp. Hopefully that will increase his value a little bit.
He may not necessarily stay on the national team or he may be the fourth string goalie or something. He has comparable stats to Earl Barrett, who is one year younger with better qualtiies (but was only above average himself). The best goalie from the U18 league was from Belgium and had 1250 OR at 18 years old. But Tommerup's definitely close, depending on Denmark's depth.
The distinction should definitely help you sell the player - perhaps good Danish clubs with elite facilities will bid against each other for the player.

Perhaps the New York Rangers? Maybe I will severely overpay for him (though I'm content with Mokris) and rename my team the Philadelphia Flyers after he turns out to be a bust due to his lack of experience and misleading statistics from playing on a good team.
Flyers would be perfect, especially if you sell your goalie who was underperforming to a bad team, and he goes on to potentially win the award for best goalie while carrying his team to a possible playoff spot.
Maybe if my team starts performing well now that I started a rebuild I can name it the Dallas Stars. Seriously, who the hell plays better AFTER starting a rebuild than they did before?

Yeah, I'm thinking that they are lacking in depth at goalie. While his OR is good, it's still the second worst on the team. I wish my training was higher when I bought him. The profit I would have made tomorrow would have been awesome. Oh well, a year from now, I should have 14-15 training, so I can just find a nice little prospect goalie then and do the same thing (if I decide not to keep him, of course).
We're now pretty sure it's a 10% bonus for 100 exp. Same for 100% chemistry.
Tommerup sold for 40 million, giving me a 15 million profit (not including contract expenses) on him. Not bad... I took out a loan and I will have 8 minimum capacity triple floors by the end of this season. Throw in the fact that I won against the Cobras, and it's been a pretty good PPM day!
I think you got lucky and that the Cobras are playing with an automatically generated roster. At least, that seems to be the best explanation for their goaltending.
