I pay to play another on-line football game. I want to jack that one in and come here, but there are two major faults with this game that mean I won't.
1) The forums are rubbish. Look at the number of posts/manager to see the proof. As there are no forums there is no community, no friendships and no rivalries. I might as well play a non-online football management game.
2) You can't see other teams players. That is not at all realistic. I ought to have some idea if my opponent has fast players, or ones with great technique. I ought to be able to go to higher leagues and learn from them. True I can scout players, but it takes too long.
Actually, there is a 3rd fault - the transfer list doesn't work for me. My life is too busy to be on-line waiting to bid on a player. I need to be able to bid well in advance. Yes i can do that of course, but then I will never get a bargain, and getting bargains is an important part of the skill and enjoyment in a game like this. Bidding needs to be more like ebay.
Any thoughts?

The forums are fine, if a little quiet for the British players, i feel it is a bit odd how they are separated for each nation rather than separated for each different language. segregates people a bit since they have to search through different countries to find a thread.
You can't see other teams players statistics, though you can search for them by placing them on your scouting list. to scout faster upgrade your facilities.
thirdly I don't believe there is any problem with the transfer market the search function for that is very good. you can find the players/staff you want and then just keep track of them. I find it hard to comment on the bargain thing because i tend not to use the market much, i am concentrating on getting up my facilities to ensure better players in the long run.
If anyone else has any thoughts on the state of the game, any improvements or niggles they have, i would love you guys to reply to this thread or pm me.

Hmmm, well, I'd say take a look at Trophy Manager to get an idea of how to build a community. In addition to a better forum layout they have some features that encourage communication between teams in the same division. I don't know anything about the other players (managers) in my division here, but loads about them there.
You can scout players. But comparing the game to real life - I personally know from watching TV that Theo Walcott is a fast runner. I don't need to be a qualified scout to observe that.
You don't need to be active in the market to know that a 300pt player who is on the market for $30K is going to sell for more. Or that someone online, and with enough time to wait for the auction to end, has a much better chance of getting value for money than someone who is not online, That's an unfair advantage in a game that is designed for offline play IMHO.

PS, I'm interested to know - are you asking for thoughts on the game in an official capacity?

frankly the market doesn't really.. erm. its not important for getting a good team. its basically for getting rid of spare players in my opinion anyway. all my money goes into my facilities which i know in the long run will help my cause the best.
You cant actually watch a game so without statistics how are you meant to know how fast he is? imagine scouting unknown players you wont know if they are fast or not without the use of a scout, i mean in real life as well as in this game.

The market, for me, has been to fill the holes that my academy didnt cover. After a while it becomes clear what you need (goaly here!)
Looking at other teams ,player ratings are all you have to go on really. I havent seen much evidence yet either way as to individual skills being important on there own. You do need to balance secondary skills but i dont know that, say, overtraining speed would give any special advantage. Also with a decent HR you soon have all your own team scouted, then you can scout other teams players.
As for the forums, i have to agree to a degree. I play a cricket game that has very lively forums, and we even meet up to play real life cricket (and we get more than 8 guys and dont wear name badges )
There is a bit more here in other countries and in the international forum, but the uk forum is almost allways dead i think partly that is because there are not many uk users, but the layout isnt great either.

ye, that is important point, there arent many people in the uk, but the layout doesnt hand itself to everyone getting involved.
I'm saying the market doesn't work for me. And you're saying 'that's okay because it does work for me'. Is that about right? ;O)
As for players stats. You're telling me that if you watched a real game you couldn't tell which players are fast runners and which are slow? Hmmm. Then again if the individual player skills don't matter, then I'd really like that confirmed... so that I know to quit! Take GK for example, as the most extreme example. OFF and MID count for nothing, so a 250 pt player could still be a really good or bad GK. Sure, I could scout him, but in my team there are about five GKs and they are all about the same level. So, if working out how good the GKs in your division are could take as many as 5*22 scouting reports. That's a lot of work and that's just GKs.

firstly if you read what tensor put, you can tell how good they are by their rating. i mean taking energy levels into consideration, but you can guestimate, and then scout based on that. in real life, managers dont watch every game they need scout reports.
