Hey all,
Every now and then I look at how much money I'm spending, per day, on staff, and it infuriates me.
I'm spending more than 500k/day on staff, and it's not like I'm carrying a lot of personnel.
I'm considering doing a whole sale change, and selling all my over-salaried staff, and bringing in some hopefully high Q, low OR staff to offset the costs of running the hockey team.
The problem is, this is going to affect the Saints' growth. SD's and Managers probably won't make that much of a difference over all:
Managers: I've scouted my entire team already, sponsorship and negotiations have been poor the last couple seasons.
Sports Directors: Pulls seem to be very random anyways, and with the Sports Academy at the level I have it, if I didn't have ANY SD's, I could only send 15 players instead of 18... Since I'm playing lean, 15 instead of 18 isn't that big of a deal.
What do you guys think? Is it worth it having top quality staff for the price you pay? $3.5 million/week seems really steep, given that I make $8/million in sponsorships.

Keep them. You are likely getting a level and a half over your current facility level in terms of production. I sold some staff and my marketing went from 72% to 50-something%. My sponsor dropped by 20mil from last season to this season. Keep them. Just don't keep lots of them
here's my thought though, if I sell those guys and save money, my facilities (which are permanent and don't retire) will build up quicker with the influx of money.
Seems like a logical choice in the long run.

Okay. But you can play 30k/day for 112 days OR Many millions up front and more maintenance over the whole season. Which is really cheaper? Maybe do some math. See how long it would take to save the 91 or 114 million to build it. 30-40% staff efficiency is the same as one level up. 80-85% efficiency is the same as 2 levels up. So If your staff are 80% efficient... add up the cost to build the next 2 levels and what maintenance would be for them.
Let's take Training/Coaching for example.
Currently I'm Level 12, and I've got some really good coaches that give me 51%/78% boosts. So let's say I've got the effect of a level 13.
Currently I'm paying my coaching staff 96,000/day. I pay 69,000/day for maintenance on level 12.
If I jump up to level 13, I then pay 113,100/day for maintenance, or a difference of 43,200/day. So if I were to sell my coaches, and upgrade to a level 13, I'd be saving 53,000/day.
That excludes the $53million to build a level 13... So basically by saving 53,000/day I could recoup my money for the building of that facility in 1000 days, just from the savings in staff.
However, my end goal is to maximize facilities anyways, so the upfront costs really don't matter much to me. The speed at which I get to my goal of maximum facilities does, though. Once I'm there, I no longer have to worry about huge up front costs, and just have to worry about maintenance, and staff salaries.

So your maintenance/day would cost more then you are paying your staff now. Not sure how this saves you money since you're only looking at the difference in maintenance not the overall total..
HR and as such managers have a great deal to say about sponsorship income. They are earning their keep, just forget about the scouting part.
The coaches and physiotherapists are indirectly earning their keep. More training is more OR is more transfer value. Unassign them both for a day and look at how much training loss guys like Timothy Weir suffer. Add that up over a whole season. Your coaches cost you 12m a year. You don't think your players go up at least that much in value because of the extra training?
I do agree that the remaining staff is very much expendable at this stage. Though you can easily check that for your custodians since your arena will be a lot more expensive than mine.

Yeah it's all a case of what I can live with losing (ie- increased training) to the benefit of not having 40% of my gen sponsor go to staff.
I still suggest against it. Sell all but your top 2 Q'd guys who are young. That's the most I'd do. Just me though
Dudes,
I pay 720k per days just for my staff. I pay 3 people more than 91k per days ... It's insane. Who's fucking earning 91k per day in this world.
I earn around 8000k per weeks and my expenses are about 7000k. How can I except upgrade my facilities?
I think that they should make a mix between the old and the new version because it's gonna kill all the medium team and increase the advance of the best teams.

As a comparison I bring in about 7.5 Million a week in income. My 23 staff cost 132K a day. Player salaries are 70k a day and I pay a 50% penalty because I carry 50 players.
My heads and assisstants average OR is 74 with 66% quality. With 1 exception they are all built so that both attributes are equal + or - 2.
Staff costs seem to sneak up on you. My tendency is to automatically renew staff. My highest paid staff is just under 20K a day. That is more than I paid all my staff in my first year. I need to be careful going forward as I don't want to get to the point of spending 50% or more of income on staff.

Quite a contrast between Fronga and Gandalf456.
This is why I'm going to be periodically cycling my staff to cut down costs. Facilities are more important than staff and the quicker those get maximized, your dependency for large sums of money goes down dramatically.
That being said, check out my sale on staff.

I think having good staff is important, but you couldn't pay me to take on the contracts of Garrett Darwin or Daniel Vojta whose salaries far outstrip their value.
