We finished the season with a 1-0 win in the friendly against Ireland:

The most pleasing thing was, we used next season's team. This hopefully puts in good stead for next year after a disappointing season, where we failed to qualify for the World Cup.
I am seeking re-election as manager but, as I have said before, if other people are interested in the role, I am happy to work with them on a transition.

Fantastic result from the "B" team! 
We started the season with a forfeit win over Kazakhstan. This gave us some good ranking points but, frustratingly, no feedback on how our players are shaping up this season. We'll just have to wait another week for that.

I just saw the 3-0 win, but didn't look at the actual match (so I didn't know it was a forfeit). The important question is did the players you set get a boost to chemistry? Or none because they played 0 minutes?

Our season kicked off properly last night with a 2-1 win over Morocco:

We were playing away, on lower intensity, with a slightly lower team rating. So to say I'm pleased with the result is an understatement.
And we will definitely get a chemistry boost this time around

On a good night for all the Aussie teams, the U20s defeated Algeria 4-1.

Algeria are the lowest ranked team in U20s so it was a game we expected to win but it was still a good result in terms of building up team chemistry.
Next week won't be so easy when we play Switzerland.

Often the low ranked teams out-energy friendlies to win. So good job! It's been an Aussie week! 
We played out a 0-0 draw with Moldova in a friendly tonight:

It was a game we should have won but they played with much greater intensity whereas we were trying to hold back a bit to keep energy for the more meaningful games. It was a bit disappointing not to get the win but at the same time, good we didn't lose.
Next week, we have a tough away friendly against Scotland as our final test before the actual qualifiers start.
