SA level 9/
All are unscouted at the moment
1 - OR 195 AQ 59CL 6/6 Spreads = W/C/D (2 Stars)
Unfortunately
highest Quality is in Def /Agr/ then Pas
highest Rating is in Off/Tec/ then Pas
He is a mutt
2 - OR 181 AQ 43 CL 6/6 Spreads = W/C (1.5 Stars)
Qualities say - Dump
Stats say - Jack of all traits master of NOTHING
3 - OR 160 AQ ?? CL 6/6 Spreads = Keeper (1.5 Stars)
Stats are 12/14/29/25/29/23/28
Keeper 1.5 Stars and 1 Star for other positions?
Haven't pulled, don't think I will
Highest my SA has been for a pull, worst pull ever.
Very Depressing

This is my second pull I got a level 3 SA.. level 4 tomorrow. I got two defenceman both 130 OR that seem pretty good for me. It is sad for me when players calll 160 OR junk. But, anyways I am curious who has the highest SA in Canada and what is it?
160 OR can be junk and 120 OR can be Good, OR means nothing unless it is dispersed along with AQ.
Say a 120 OR has 40Def 25Pas 20Agr and the rest spread to the other stats and the Q in DEF PAS and AGR all above say 70, that makes a NICE Defensive prospect with 6/6CL.
Say a 181 OR as 35G 45D 35O 20S 20P 11T 15A
and a 43 AQ as 65G 43D 47O 57S 21P 15T 52A
That is not a what I would call a good prospect, doubly so if CL is low too.
Well that's how I see it anyway

True, I complain about the OR of my pulls mostly because they are average quality as well. It is misleading to others, I should also mention that their Qs are bad.
Although even a 120 OR with like a 90 Q on all the appropriate attributes and perfect CL... will take a long time to train up to national team level.
Lets say 260 - 280 OR range.. because by the time they get up there, all the other current national team members will have gotten better.
Even using some team who has awesome facilities and like 0.8-1.0 per day practice...
That would take between around 2 - 4 seasons to get them there, and by then, their CL could have been shot.
Some people are so far behind it makes it tough.
But I would tend more to agree, that the quality of the attributes will help your team more long term than getting the big OR pull with crappy Qs.

Try not to look at it in terms of nat team. But rather in terms of your division. Facilities drive development. traing/regen and SA mean less without quality and quality is luck. You just need to stick to fundamentals 1st. Flat leveling for training/regen. Keep SA moving as much as possible also. With decent staff, not stars and regen/training 8 you get about .70 per day not playing and 6/6 CL for attys around 95% quality. Though on good days I've had a 99% atty pop .80. My staff aren't quite at 20:20 yet.
Especially if your playing your best pulls you need to keep regen flat with training facility. You player development should be targeted at out pacing your fellow division members. As you promote you see a new build to work towards. I'm looking at division I. I like the view from division II a whole lot better! hehehe My NOOBS can't compete with those guys.

I understand that just a 160 OR would be second best player
dont worry we all started off there, i had to buy my best players(which were atoun 170 at the time)
looks like im finally starting to pull in some decent players, probably gonna upgrade the SA again

One thing about the game with the division structure you can grow gradually. As Nyte said we all started there in season 1. Read the forum and ask questions as your doing. One thing about where your at is you can "buy" a team". Especially if your in your second season. There is a big jump in sponsor money. Folks went from 4 million a season to 20 plus million as average the second season. Then you can buy a fair number of players in the market. Not 5 million doller players. But guy between 100-200K. Player with complete bundles. Or you can put the money into facilities or both. The key is 3 season players are yurning over guys you can use effectively as starters. If your still in season 1 for yourself wait til season 2 and see your sponsor offer.
There are several strategies you can employ. The best longterm strategy is upgrading facilities. But others have bought players to compete now. Flying Heads in division I.I bought a fair bit of his team. Competing for 1st place. His facilities are behind a fair number og division 2 and 3 managers. But right now his team is very successful. It's just how you wish to approach the game.

I've been employing a balanced approach. Trying to upgrade my facilities, but at the same time wheeling and dealing on the market. I've found some good deals, and made some good money on players/staff.
Now that I've established myself a bit more, I'm going to rely more on bi-weekly pulls to stock up my team. This week was a good pull, so I'm not going to wheel and deal as much (if at all). So more focus towards saving money for facilities now that I'm in the $8million range for the next level up.

The market becomes ineffective on a cost/benifit analysis as your team improves. Players that currently fit my team are 10 mil plus generally. Bought 1 player this season for 2.3 million. I needed center depth for next season so went looking for a winger built "wrong" with about 60 primary and decent quality. Found the guy after about a week. Built 2:1:1 for wing. But much better quality in pass than tech. Pass was only a couple points lower than tech. Moved him to 75% pass and now raising him to 75% shot. If you like the 2:1:1 build then you compare pass to agro quality to decide his best position build. You'll find these guys going through the market from time to time. Another benifit if your building off of a 2:1:1 initil/present build is this guy was being played by his former club. Thus I get some EXP as well.

That's what I've been finding lately. When i was an up and comer, I could get "steals" for cheap because I was looking for low-attribute/high-quality players.
Now I look for medium-attribute/high-quality players, and am finding they're a lot more expensive. It's in my best interest anyways to build from within, and much cheaper at this point.

Varies. The greys generally closer to accurate than the AQ. Here's how it works. As you upgrade the HR and your staff get better on atty 1 the "estimates" on player quality should improves for the grey numbers. Thus they should be closer in actuality after scouting. There is another factor.
There is an update every second Monday. 1 thing shuffled is quality of unscouted players. With low HR levels early on I saw swings of as much as 33% in AQ of unscouted players for example. Say from 47% to 80%. Also I study this through comparisom. You'd get around 10% shuffled 33. ie about 4 in 40. Others shuffled at lower rates. 13% up and 7% down for example in groups. I'f I remember correctly you'd have 4 numbers applied to the shuffle/change. The largest was generally a small number of players. The smaller changes the larger %percentage of players.
One guy was 99% quite often. Then drop to 77% on a 22% decline Monday then back up 2 weeks later. The grey numbers would not change as dramatically as the AQ would.
Summing it up. AQ less accurate in general than the grey individual estimates. Higher HR and better manager atty 1 means more accurate estimates in general.
