This is my first season and I was wondering at what energy level does it really start to hurt the preformance of my players?
No one really knows. Soccer is still a bit of a mystery. There's some very good teams who play on Low all season expecting to see that energy pay off in the second half of the season, but it doesn't always happen. I think it's because soccer is such a tight sport. One lucky goal can win a game, so it's hard to tell when energy is too bad. I would start getting nervous if my players were approaching 85% seasonal energy. But that's a number I pulled out of my ass. Nothing scientific about that
At 94-92 energy I notice player individual ratings go down as well as overall goalkeeping stat.
So do most teams play the majority of their games on LOW, or do you just trade out players every couple games?
intersting, mine only droped after I hit 90 energy not before.
It could very well be due to the ratio of the players, but my goaltender seems evenly built and his rating dropped. I could only guess that energy was the culprit.
I have no idea what's going on with soccer. I'm just trying to build up my facilities and arena so when they redevelop the game I hope to understand it a little better.
In hockey it can make sense to play low, since the playoffs have such a big effect on whether you promote/relegate. Get into 8th place and you have a chance to promote, or finish 13th and you might relegate.
In soccer, you have to be 2nd to promote, so it doesn't make sense to have leftover energy when you finish 5th. And you typically use more players in a hockey match, so you might be able to save energy by rotating more players in and out in soccer. In a 42-match season, you 462 starts. You can use 16 players and give each player 30 starts, You would only need to sprinkle in 3 backups per match to do that.

i agree littlericky. i have a forward who was scoring alot in the 1st half of the season but after he hit 987-90energy level his performance decreases and wasn't as effective on top anymore. i also have a very good goalie that was getting cleansheets but after he hit less than 90 his performance decreases too
So energy does not reset till next season? Say I have a player at 95/95% energy even if i took him out a few games he wont replenish back to 100/100% energy?
