The reason I go for large stand-ups instead of mediums is for the press centers, on top of the extra seats, while still not being too expensive.

large has press center. I will not build any medium. just waste of money.

I will go to
1. upgrade them all to 100 on pretty much day one.
2. Upgrade one by one to Large (not sure if i will even upgrade to full seating capacity)
3. build press center for each one
4. upgrade to triple level one by one at full capacity.
5. rebuild the press centers for triple level.


the only reason i will have a large step before going to triple is because of the press center.

The large will cost $10.24 million more for 400 extra seats. I'm not sure how much tickets will cost, but at perhaps $100 per ticket over 52 games (extra seats probably won't be sold for exhibitions), that is $2.08 million (minus about $286,720 per season in extra maintenance). It will take about 5 season to recover the investment. Of course, the media sponsor will offset some of the costs, but it won't be very high at this point in the game. The press centers are helpful, but I would rather save the extra money to build a multipurpose sooner and build a few facilities that I have determined to be key rather than invest too much in an intermediate stadium that I will soon demolish again.

My general sponsor and media sponsor right now gives me about $11.3 million per season, so the extra cost is rather significant (I don't think it's possible to build every section to level 3 in the first season without completely neglecting everything else).

large stand will represent only 10% of the maximum seats. That will provide not much media sponsor offer. but nothing, after large stand is worth the money other than the triple level.

so the options left are
1. leave maxed bench
2. build medium stand for "cheap"
3. built large stand for the sake of press center until there is money for tripple level.


If large is 10% of max available, medium is even less. I'd just cut the medium as option so id either leave on maxed bench or go to large for the pres center.

I plan to go to large on season 2.

Tickets are $400 per seat. With the higher media deal, they should pay off in about one season.

If sponsor deals are similar to the other sports, it will probably take 3-4 seasons of spending all money on the arena to build TFMs for all sections, which gives plenty of time for the large stand-ups to pay off.

Ultimately, it depends how fast sponsor deals grow. If I'm at the stage where I'm considering upgrading my 8th section from smalls to larges, but if I save money for a season I can start a TFM, then I wouldn't do that upgrade.

I'm a little fuzzy on how it worked in soccer, but as I recall, upgrading to all larges was possible fairly quickly, then there was a decent gap of a couple seasons before it was really feasible to start building TFMs. As such, those larges had plenty of time to pay off.

It might not be so bad at $400 per ticket (though I wrongly assumed ticket sales for 26 away games and sellout home games).

8 medium stands cost as much as 2 large stands. If a manager had enough fans, then the manager could build 8 stands and have 8*200-2*250-6*50=800 seats (500 seats if you maximize the other six benches), which would take 11 (17) home games at capacity to recover the costs to be reinvested in large stands, based only on the extra seats from starting with medium seats. The same could be said about maximizing benches first. The medium stands will pay for themselves more quickly and allow more seats to be built more quickly. The large seats will only be necessary as of the end of the season or in case you need the extra 400 seats sooner and can afford to buy enough large stands to actually give you those extra seats. Of course, even the medium stands need only be built as fast as more seats are needed. Basically, a stand is worth building if it can pay for itself in the time it would take to build an equivalent number of seats of a higher quality.

400 extra seats at the end of the season might only mean an extra 16*$200,000-$286,720 or so as far as the media sponsor if you are not selling more than 1,600 seats per game by then.

$1.7 million might take 2 weeks to pay for. The eighth large stand might just be completed in time for media sponsors.

Never mind, the number of fans won't grow fast enough to take advantage of such a scheme. It might work as far as maximizing the benches first, but it should be possible to build large stands faster than the fans can fill the seats.
