Sorry to see you go!
It's been a good run for you.You will be tough to replace.
Much credit to you for the silver medal you brought to this great country. It takes a lot of time and effort to even be in the running for one.
Thanks!

With all the exitement and controversy that occurred last season, why is there still no one running for GM of the Canadian national U18 hockey team?????
I'm waiting to see if someone throws their hat in (in part because of that controversy of last season...). If no one does, I'll jump in. I'm still scouting kids left and right, so I've got the material to work with, ha. (Also after having just 1 kid on the NT for like 3 seasons I finally have decent prospects coming back in, lol)
I'd love to see Krokador back at the helm of a NT. I would have confidence that our good results will keep on being the norm at the U18 if she took over.
I figured Paul would be interested even though we haven't heard from him on that subject yet and he would of course also be a good candidate.

Today, we start the championships.
I hope to end my stint as GM of the U18s with another good performance.
Although this year's lineup is weaker than previous editions, I still feel that good results are possible because of our advanced preparation and a schedule that I would classify as easier than usual. This is our reward for our standing in the world. Let's hope we can achieve good enough results to maintain ourselves among the strongest group of countries.

Well, my choices were terrible this time around. He countered my tactics in each period even when I changed them mid way through the game. I had tons of success in the guessing game against Russia and this particular GM in the past. It was meant to catch up eventually.
So, tough preliminary round for us this time with 1-2. Thankfully, Belarus is eliminated: Serbia, Canada and Russia make it. Our win came against Serbia, so our 3 points will carry through.
We come out of preliminary with a decent outcome. Let's hope for more luck moving forward and a goal here and there would help.

SC, I know what you mean. I hate the early round. With only three games, there is very little margin for error of any kind. One little case of bad luck can ruin your expectations. You can be out without it being your fault. Congrats on moving on!!
After getting shutout 3 days in a row, I wondered if we would ever score a goal again this tournament.
Turns out we did. Twice. Against Spain and it was our turn to shutout the opponent. This is an important win for us as winning against Austria tomorrow (who has been the punching bag of the tournament so far) will offer us a spot in the playoffs.
I doubt we can replicate past season's successes this year since our lineup is much weaker, but reaching a playoff spot (top 8) is always a success in my book. Anything above that is gravy.

We couldn't quite crack this game even though we chose the right tactics. I had planned to make a change of we went down after 2 periods. It's a shame because we were winning tactics at this point, but were still down on the score (frankly because this was a much better team than ours).
Still, no upsets in the quarter finals mean we finish the tournament 5th, which is an incredible result in my mind for what was a down year in terms of talent on the U18s.
It should be enough to maintain out standings in the world or close to.

I noticed. Strange result giving comparable teams and us hitting tactics.
Well, isn't that great, for 5M mandalorians got rid of the guy that should've been our goalie next season to a team with lvl 1 TF
In other news, I've finished updating all scouted players 19 and younger (20- in 2 days). Man was that tedious O_o

As one of the "giver ups", I will say that I never acknowledged much difference between a low-Tech defenseman and a high-tech defenseman in penalty taking or actual on-ice play. I do believe that investing in tech for a defenseman has a lower ROI than other skills.
I still keep training around 25% of the main skill, but that's it for me... Until my opinion changes.

Yeah, that sucks. I expected him to go for more. Also didn’t expect him to go to a garbage team.
