I would like to copy my candidacy speech.

Hi Folks (French text is following up),
I'm Maxime, manager of the Alberta Lumberjack. I’m not the most successful Canadian manager, but I've had some success with my team. My assistant (Scott aka canucks357) managed to have decent success with his team as well.
Our only objective for this first year is to find the future of the Canadian National Senior Team. We want to give to our young players chemistry and experience as soon as possible so they can perform in the U20 and Senior levels. We will select the most promising players and keep some positions available for prospects.
I will be more than happy to answer your questions on the forum and by private message if necessarily.

Je suis Maxime, manageur des Alberta Lumberjacks. Je ne suis pas le manageur canadien qui a connu le plus de succès mais j'ai quand même eu quelques bons résultats. Mon assistant (Scott alias Canucks357) a également connu un succès raisonnable.
Notre seul objectif pour cette première saison est de trouver les futurs joueurs pour l'équipe sénior canadienne. Nous voulons donner à nos jeunes joueurs de l'expérience et de l'alchimie aussi vite que possible pour qu'ils puissent perforer dans l'équipe U20 et l'équipe senior. Nous sélectionnerons les joueurs les plus prometteurs tout en gardant quelques places disponibles pour les jeunes sortis de l'académie au cours de la prochaine saison.

Seeing as I can still claim to being fairly new to the game, I have a couple questions about national teams. How exactly are players picked? And i realize that this is the first time for U20 and U18, but what range of overall are expected to be selected? And do you pick up players with lower stats but high qualities in order to help to train them? Also, if i have players from different countries, is there a way to... submit them for their teams consideration?

There is a website where teams can upload any player. All NT managers would have access to this then they can filter by age. Hard to tell what the requirement would be. There already is a 800 OR 17 year old Canadian hockey player in the world... scary but true.

have a 16 year old universal winger i would love to see to get some experience...not that 750 level , but will be solid winger.

Are you guys going to try to get players that are 6/6? Or just the best ones short term?

And Brian, I'm sorry but I don't think your winger can make it. I have 3 16 year olds that are stronger than he is and I know that they won't make the team. A 16 year old should probably be above 650OR at this time in the season. What do the guys that have max academy and training think?

As I stated in my presentation, winning really won't be the focus if I'm the GM. It's a U18 team. Our goal would be to optimize the development of the top Canadian prospects (so 6/6 is ideal, though other things come into consideration of course) and provide them with quality ice time in order to have the best senior team possible.

But that's the way I see it. Doesn't mean that's what it'll be!

I agree with your position that we should really focus on the 6/6 players as the ones that hit 5/6 before they hit 19 years old won't last nearly as long. Anyway, I like the long term vision.

So what strength should be the targets at each age for players to be considered as part of the U18 team?

i think a balance of winning and developing possible senior players is a better idea. for this, u18 requirement can be at least 6/6 cl, and u20 requirement can be at least 5/6 cl. within that, whomever has the best OR and the quality would make the team

Of course 6/6 is really important but we won't selecte (if I'm GM) player only based on that attribute. We will select the most interesting prospect with more different criteria like team facilities, capacity of training, time of ice ...

But can we refused a very strong player just because is 5/6 at 17 for example ?
We'll see

For my own team, I like players that get to 6/6 @ 16 or better. If they're 5/6 before that age, I'll sell them.

For an under 18 team, I don't think it matters as much.

So is everyone just considering the U18 and U20 teams to be farm teams?
